The '''Monkey Kid''' is a [[Monkey]] created by [[User:GuyThatExists|GuyThatExists]] that appears in the [[:Category:Fanfiction|one-shot]] ''[[Fanon:In The Treetop Village|In The Treetop Village]]'' as a main character and the [[:Category:Fanfiction|short story]] ''[[Fanon:Salem Rose Pt. 1|Salem Rose Pt. 1]]'' as a minor character. He also appears in the [[:Category:Fanfiction|anthology series]] ''[[Fanon:The 35|The 35]]'' as a character in 1 out of 105 segments.

 

During [[Circi]]'s attack on the [[Treetop Village]], the Monkey Kid escaped into [[Rapoville]], hiding in [[Zsasha]]'s hut and becoming friends with them. Later, when [[Monkey King|his father]] is assassinated, he becomes the new Monkey King. By [[Fanon:GuyThatExists' Timeline#2042|2042]], he and Treetop Village had joined the [[Fanon:Creator's Alliance|Creator's Alliance]].

The Monkey Kid takes the appearance as a normal monkey, yet much smaller, being shorter that a Raposa. It is unknown what he looks like as an adult, but it can be assumed that he bears resemblance to his father.

The Monkey Kid is first seen when [[Zsasha]] infiltrates the [[Treetop Village]] looking for the [[Crystal Mask]]. As a troupe of [[Monkey]]s carry him up to the [[Monkey King]], Zsasha overhears the Monkey King telling his son that he promises to find some friends for his son in [[Rapoville]]. When the Monkeys arrive at the top of the tower, the Monkey Kid is distracted by the [[Fanon:Angry God's Shield|shield]] Zsasha was carrying.  

Just as he touches the shield, [[Circi]] appears in the room in her [[Shadow]] form, scaring the other monkeys, who curse the Monkey Kid for bringing bad luck. The Monkey Kid runs behind a pile of boxes, the same place Zsasha was hiding, as Circi and the Monkey King fight over the Crystal Mask. Eventually, Circi spots the Monkey Kid and kidnaps him, using him as a hostage for the Crystal Mask. The Monkey King agrees to give it to her if she returns his son, so she sets the Monkey Kid down. Just then, Zsasha pushes Circi over the edge of the tower and tells the Monkey Kid to run through the World Gate. He obliges and runs through the gate to Rapoville, hiding in Zsasha's abandoned house.

The Monkey Kid, now known as the Monkey King, appears in [[Fanon:GuyThatExists' Timeline#2042|2042]] at the [[Fanon:Creator's Alliance|Creator's Alliance]] meeting, not understanding why [[Mari]] was keeping [[Wilfre]] in [[Rapoville]] without punishment. By the end of the meeting, the Monkey King is one of the [[Mayor (Position)|mayors]] who did not pull out of the alliance.
