The original series was created and developed by [[5th Cell]], with guest developers such as [[Altron]] and [[Planet Moon Studios]] working on ''[[Drawn to Life: Spongebob Squarepants Edition]]'' and ''[[Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (Wii)]]'' respectively. In 2013, the series IP was sold to [[505 Games]] after the previous publisher, [[THQ]], declared bankruptcy. Since this transfer, both [[WayForward]] and [[Digital Continue]] have developed games in the series.

Most games in this series are 2D platformers, with ''[[Drawn to Life: Two Realms]]'' being more of a puzzle game with a platformer twist. Each game also has a "village mode", where the player can interact with the various [[Raposa]] and access the map menus. With the exception of ''Drawn to Life: Two Realms'', each game has a focus on rescuing Raposa from the levels, while also collecting various objects ranging anywhere from [[Template]]s, [[Stamp]]s, or [[Heather's Pendant|Valuable Artifacts]]. In every game, the player can also create their own graphics, with the main pull of the series being the ability to "Drawn Your Hero!". The player is also able to draw various level objects, village objects, and even some enemies in ''Drawn to Life: Spongebob Squarepants Edition''.

The main series revolves around the story of the [[Raposa]], fox-like humanoids that live in [[Rapoville]], a village closely linked to the Raposa's deity - the [[Creator]]. You play as the Creator and as the [[Hero|Creation Hero]], a being sent to help the Raposa with their struggles. In the DS games, the Raposa focus on defeating [[Wilfre]], an antagonistic Raposa who challenged the Creator and created the [[Shadow]], the primary malicious force in the series. The Raposa also find two interesting characters along their journey, [[Heather]] - a Raposa with Shadow scarring half of her body, and Mike - a [[Human]] stuck in Rapoville with no memory of how he got there.

Other main characters include [[Mayor]] - the Mayor of Rapoville, [[Mari]] - the Mayor's daughter and the last Raposa to continue believing in the Creator, and [[Jowee]] - Mari's best friend and a Raposa that loves adventure. Other antagonists include [[Aldark]] - a pure-Shadow creature that is set on taking revenge on the Raposa - and [[Salem]] - an opera fanatic that rigged a challenge in an attempt to destroy the faraway village of [[Watersong]].

When mobile developers [[5th Cell]] wanted to transition from mobile games to the [[:wikipedia:Nintendo DS|Nintendo DS]], Series Director [[Drawn to Life Credits|Jeremiah Slaczka]] was determined to make something that would use the DS's features in a unique way. The original concept of drawings coming to life was in Slaczka's head for roughly six months before the company began prototyping it.

From that initial concept, the developers began incorporating a platforming aspect, and tied it to the village and story. During development, 5th Cell wanted playing the game to be an experience deeper than just the gimmick of having drawings come to life, and made sure players were always drawing something new and unique to add to the game world. The biggest technical challenge was making the drawing tool easy to understand yet not limiting how players could draw, although they eventually felt confident with the results.

Later that year, on December 7, 2020, ''Drawn to Life: Two Realms'' was digitally released on [[:wikipedia:Nintendo Switch|Nintendo Switch]], [[:wikipedia:Steam (service)|Steam compatible devices]], and most devices running [[:wikipedia:Android (operating system)|Android]] or [[:wikipedia:iOS|iOS]]. Throughout the game, she feels as if [[Rapoville]] is too dependent on the [[Creator]] and is quick to pin others for crimes without real evidence. However, once all the [[Artifacts of Power]] were collected, she revealed herself to be [[Wilfre]]'s lover, and revealed all the conflict in the game to be a result of her plan to revive Wilfre. Circi was born in [[Shadow City]], but had to evacuate to [[Rapoville]] as a baby due to the emergence of [[Shadow]] creatures. She fled Rapoville with her family when [[Wilfre]] defaced the [[Book of Life]], but returned after the events of the [[Drawn to Life|first game]]. She was then appointed as [[Mari]]'s deputy mayor. She is first seen when the [[Book of Life]] goes missing, and she stands with Mari as she prays for a [[Hero]]. When they learn that [[Crazy Barks]] has the Book, Circi is reluctant to go after him, but she does, learning the history of Wilfre in the process. After this, she asks the Hero and [[Jowee]] to go into [[Jangala]] to find [[Zsasha]], believing him to be behind the disappearance of the village creations.

When Zsasha is found trapped with the [[Monkey King]] and the [[Crystal Mask]], Circi realizes he was innocent and begins to tell the villagers that Wilfre must have returned, sending the Hero and Jowee through Shadow City to find his lair. When they find a shadowy figure carrying [[Wilfre's Journal]], Circi continues to push that Wilfre had returned, so Jowee and the Hero go to [[Wilfre's Lair]] for even more proof. When they find his journal, Circi reads about the [[Artifacts of Power]] - the Crystal Mask, Wilfre's [[Pen and Pencil]], the [[Eternal Furnace]], and [[Branches from the Tree of Ages]]. Circi then sends Jowee and the Hero to the [[Icy Wastes]] to find the Eternal Furnace while she studies Wilfre's Journal even more.

When Jowee and the Hero find the Furnace, they see the same shadowy figure stealing it for themself, causing the villagers to panic. Mari and Galileo then send the heroes to the [[Eastern Winds]] to find the [[Tree of Ages]]. On their way there, Circi suggests to [[Mike]] and the Hero that they could find a [[Jar of Lightning Bugs]] in the [[Roab Plateaus]]. After Jowee and the Hero defeat the Shadow attacking the land, Circi takes the Branches to [[Village Hall]], where she secretly assembles the Artifacts of Power into a [[Dark Mannequin]], revealing her true persona - the shadowy figure who stole the Furnace and Wilfre's lover.

When Mari, Jowee, and the Hero encounter her at Village Hall, she begins to scribble in the Book of Life in an attempt to revive Wilfre. However, she had forgotten Wilfre's face, leading her creations to come out twisted and evil, much like Wilfre's creations before hers. The resulting [[Giant Scribble Monster]] begins to terrorize the village, so the Hero and Mari work together to stop it. It is unknown what happens to Circi after this attack, although dialogue implies that she had died in the attack.

Circi was born in [[Shadow City]], but had to evacuate to [[Rapoville]] as a baby due to the emergence of [[Shadow]] creatures. She fled Rapoville with her family when [[Wilfre]] defaced the [[Book of Life]], but returned after the events of the [[Drawn to Life|first game]]. She was then appointed as [[Mari]]'s deputy mayor. She is first seen when the [[Book of Life]] goes missing, and she stands with Mari as she prays for a [[Hero]]. When they learn that [[Crazy Barks]] has the Book, Circi is reluctant to go after him, but she does, learning the history of Wilfre in the process. After this, she asks the Hero and [[Jowee]] to go into [[Jangala]] to find [[Zsasha]], believing him to be behind the disappearance of the village creations.

When Zsasha is found trapped with the [[Monkey King]] and the [[Crystal Mask]], Circi realizes he was innocent and begins to tell the villagers that Wilfre must have returned, sending the Hero and Jowee through Shadow City to find his lair. When they find a shadowy figure carrying [[Wilfre's Journal]], Circi continues to push that Wilfre had returned, so Jowee and the Hero go to [[Wilfre's Lair]] for even more proof. When they find his journal, Circi reads about the [[Artifacts of Power]] - the Crystal Mask, Wilfre's [[Pen and Pencil]], the [[Eternal Furnace]], and [[Branches from the Tree of Ages]]. Circi then sends Jowee and the Hero to the [[Icy Wastes]] to find the Eternal Furnace while she studies Wilfre's Journal even more.

When Jowee and the Hero find the Furnace, they see the same shadowy figure stealing it for themself, causing the villagers to panic. Mari and Galileo then send the heroes to the [[Eastern Winds]] to find the [[Tree of Ages]]. On their way there, Circi suggests to [[Mike]] and the Hero that they could find a [[Jar of Lightning Bugs]] in the [[Roab Plateaus]]. After Jowee and the Hero defeat the Shadow attacking the land, Circi takes the Branches to [[Village Hall]], where she secretly assembles the Artifacts of Power into a [[Dark Mannequin]], revealing her true persona - the shadowy figure who stole the Furnace and Wilfre's lover.

When Mari, Jowee, and the Hero encounter her at Village Hall, she begins to scribble in the Book of Life in an attempt to revive Wilfre. However, she had forgotten Wilfre's face, leading her creations to come out twisted and evil, much like Wilfre's creations before hers. The resulting [[Giant Scribble Monster]] begins to terrorize the village, so the Hero and Mari work together to stop it. It is unknown what happens to Circi after this attack, although dialogue implies that she had died in the attack.

Long before anything existed there was the Creator, who designed the [[Book of Life]]. The Creator drew everything in the book and brought it into existence. First, the Creator formed a circle and drew the [[World]]. Then they populated the world with forests, and finally created the [[Raposa]].

Several years before [[Mari]] was born, [[Wilfre]] questioned why the Raposa were forbidden to design their own creations. He then stole the Book of Life, drawing in it and creating [[Shadow]]. Click saw that they needed leadership and decided to create a puppet government called [[The Council]] to protect and guide them. He led his village to believe "The Council" was ruling, while behind the scenes, Click was controlling The Council. He decided to keep an eye on the villagers by acting as a messenger for The Council. However, things got out of hand and he began to create ridiculous rules and laws to keep order. He also created the [[S.P.U.D.]], a police force entirely run by him. Sometime before the events of [[Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter]], Click was approached by [[Wilfre]] and persuaded into creating the Space Fortress, the mechanical buildings in the sky above Galactic Jungle. It is unknown whether this inspired The Council or was inspired ''by'' The Council.

When [[Jowee]], [[Sock]], and the [[Hero]] arrive at Galactic Jungle, they find that the village had been completely drained of [[Color]]. After restoring color to the ground, Click introduces himself to the group and asks them for their travel papers.

Aly is first introduced when she calls [[Heather]] and asks to meet [[Mike]] at the Park. Mike and the [[Hero]] meet her there, and she confides in Mike that her parents are fighting again. She ends up asking the Hero to find her father, [[Bruce Lannialli]], and tell her when they find him. Eventually, Aly and Mike meet up with the Hero, who had found Bruce moments earlier, and she confronts him about leaving. He apologizes to her and goes home, leaving Aly, Mike, and the Hero alone. She then invites the two of them for ice cream, and they all go to the [[Ice Cream Shop]].

The group arrives at the shop and gets their ice cream, and Mike offers to walk Aly home. On the way home, Mike sees a [[Maximus]] and tries to warn Aly. She cannot see the [[Shadow]] monster and believes that Mike is spazzing out, so she runs off. Back at her house, she thinks about Mike, knowing he means well. Unbeknownst to her, [[Aldark]] appears in her room and allows a [[Minimus]] to corrupt her.

The next day, Mike goes to [[Aly's House]] to apologize, but thanks to the Shadow's influence, she calls him a weirdo and tells him to get out. Mike runs off, blaming the Hero for her now hating him. After the Hero speaks with Heather, they go back to Aly's House and she tells the Hero that [[Deputy Snyder]] was responsible for the crash that killed Mike's parents. She then gets mad at Heather for trying to see the good in everyone, so the Hero has an imagination battle with her. Afterwards, she calms down and decides to go find Mike to apologize, but her dad comes in before she can leave and asks about Aly's mother. Aly asks the Hero to go find her at the hospital, and Aly goes to Mike's house.

When she gets there, she and Heather get mad at [[Tony]] for claiming that Mike disappeared through a portal. The Hero walks in, and Aly asks the Hero to find Mike, as they still don't believe Tony. As the Hero searches [[Rapoville]] for Mike, Aly, Tony, and Heather search [[Belleview]]. Eventually, the Hero returns to Belleview, and the four of them realize that Mike is going to confront Deputy Snyder once and for all. The four of them arrive at the [[Police Station]] and see Mike yelling at Deputy Snyder. As the Hero has an imagination battle with both Snyder and Mike, Aly stands on the sidelines with other townspeople, watching as Mike apologizes and forgives Snyder.

An unknown amount of time later, Aly and Mike are talking about a grammar test they had in school. Aly asks Mike what prompted him to forgive Deputy Snyder. Mike thinks for a second and begins to tell her the story of the Hero.

The two brothers realize that unless a miracle happens, they won't survive the night and say their goodbyes. Suddenly, they notice a ship coming towards them, captained by [[Galileo]].

Galileo saves the brothers and welcomes them onboard the [[User:GuyThatExists/Bane of Kings|Bane of Kings]], telling them tales of the color draining in [[Rapoville]] and [[Wilfre]] kidnapping villagers. The three decide to go to [[Watersong]] and speak with [[Rose]]. When they arrive at the village, Galileo explores the village while Eeny and Meeny go to [[Rose's Mansion]]. Eeny and Meeny explain their situation to Rose and [[Butler]], and Butler tells Eeny that Salem is one of Wilfre's alter egos.

As Meeny talks to Rose, Eeny and Galileo return to the mansion, and [[Miles]] asks Galileo about the [[Giant Scribble Monster]] which causes Galileo to enter a PTSD episode. Meeny tries to calm him down by grabbing his back, but this causes Galileo to get even more upset. Eeny pulls Galileo out of the mansion and Meeny asks Miles to talk about his adventure. Eventually, Butler calls Meeny and Rose to a balcony to watch Eeny and Galileo fight [[Leopold]] and [[Francois]]. Miles leaves the two alone in their room, and Eeny reveals that he wants to leave the village and go on adventures. Meeny gets mad, and the two begin to fight. Rose overhears and tries to help the two settle the argument, but fails. Eventually, she uses her power of song to put Eeny to sleep, and sits next to Meeny on the bed, telling him that there's a spare bed in her room, kissing him in the process.

Some time in the future, Meeny marries Rose and becomes Miles' step-father. One night, Meeny calls Miles into his room and asks Miles to start a family so that he wouldn't be alone when Meeny dies. Eventually, she uses her power of song to put Eeny to sleep, and sits next to Meeny on the bed, telling him that there's a spare bed in her room, kissing him in the process.

Some time in the future, Meeny marries Rose and becomes Miles' step-father. One night, Meeny calls Miles into his room and asks Miles to start a family so that he wouldn't be alone when Meeny dies. Milque is an overweight, young RapoBoy with brown fur. He has the characteristics of a female Raposa (long ears, chest, etc.) with the exception of his fur. He has undergone follicle surgery, so he is covered head-to-toe with fur, similar to male Raposa. Milque has thick eyebrows, and the occasional freckle on his face, but has 2 distinct moles on his left side of his face, on his cheek. Milque’s fur and face are usually dripping with different colors of paint, whether it be fresh or caked on. When off-duty, he wears an oversized black hoodie with blue cuffed jeans, wearing a binder matching his fur color, and a long-sleeved blue polo with the sleeves rolled up under said hoodie, regardless of the weather. When on-duty, he ties his hoodie around his waist in a knot, and dons his Jr. Deputy badge.

Milque (reluctantly) works under Cricket as his Jr. Deputy, as requested by his parents. Putting his artistic skill at work, he mainly draws forensic art for missing Raposa and suspect profiles for wanted posters. He regularly patrols the village, looking out for any suspicious activity. Since Rapoville, in general, is usually calm and uneventful, Milque very often slacks and goofs off much to Cricket’s dismay. Milque may not be enthusiastic about his position, but he understands the importance of it and does put in the work necessary to help the Raposa in any way he can.

Pouches is a young RapoBoy with light grey fur and a pair of blue-rimmed glasses. He wears a blue shirt and has a brown satchel hung around his shoulder.

=={{Icon|Story}} Story==
In [[User:GuyThatExists/Shadow Lives On|Shadow Lives On]], Pouches is first seen when [[Wilfre]] walks away from the [[Galactic Jungle]] district. He asks Wilfre to go on an adventure, saying that since [[Cindi]] went on a adventure a few years ago, he should be able to go too. Wilfre explains that those were different times, and that he's too young to go adventuring. Wilfre begins to walk away, but soon comes back and tells Pouches that he'd put in a good word with [[Mari]].

Eventually, he is persuaded by [[User:GuyThatExists/Kyren|Kyren]] to swim to the side of the [[User:GuyThatExists/Bane of Kings|Bane of Kings]] and board the ship from the gun ports. They hide on the ship until they hear the group above talking about their plan for when they arrive at [[Wilfre's Wasteland]]. Kyren hears them say that they don't have enough people to cover every quarter of the wasteland, so she pops out from below deck with Pouches, formally joining the group on their adventure.

When they get to Wilfre's Wasteland, Pouches and Kyren are told to act as security detail in the [[Watersong]] quarter. The two wait in the sand until Kyren gets bored and runs inside [[Sun Burn Bay]]. Pouches stays outside and worries before running into the level and calling for Kyren. He hears her call for help, but can't find her. Suddenly, he is pulled into a tent where he sees Kyren and a [[User:GuyThatExists/Milfre|mysterious woman]], who explains that the [[Angry Sun]] has been attacking them. Pouches watches as the woman fights and defeats the sun using a [[Pen and Pencil|Pencil]]. She then picks the two children up and puts them on her shoulders as she runs through the level

Pouches then notices the Angry Sun coming back to attack them. Before he can defeat the sun, Kyren uses the danger as a way to get information out of the woman. After learning her name, Percate, Kyren nods at Pouches, who then takes the [[Village Orbs|Watersong Orb]] out of his satchel and throws it at the sun, evaporating it. The woman gets mad, and Kyren calls her out for lying, saying that she knew about the real [[User:GuyThatExists/Percate|Percate]]. The woman pools up water from the Watersong Orb, reforming it, as Kyren approaches her with the Pencil, asking about it and the woman's real name. She admits that her name is [[User:GuyThatExists/Milfre|Milfre]] and asks the two for their help.

Pouches is next seen putting the Watersong Orb back on it's pedestal, causing the barrier around Wilfre's quarter to fall. He and Kyren join the rest of the group as Milfre, now in her Artifact form, approaches the group. While she talks to the group, Kyren takes the Pencil from Pouches' satchel and uses it to trace the seams on Wilfre's hood without anyone noticing her. She slips the Pencil back into Pouches' satchel as Milfre shoots a beam of ink at Wilfre, tracing the Pencil's marks and stripping him of his hood, revealing him to the other [[Raposa]].

While Milfre and Mari negotiate the release of [[Unagi]], [[Crazy Barks]], and [[Indee]], Milfre mentions that she wanted Mari to leave the kids at the Wasteland so that they could play. The two children watch Milfre and Wilfre fight and are protected by the barrier in Wilfre's quarter when the [[Cave Monster]] attacks the village. Eventually, the fight subdues, Milfre's family makes amends, and Pouches returns home with the rest of the group.
