'''Pirate Beard''' is a stereotypical pirate [[Raposa]] that appears in ''[[Drawn to Life]]'', ''[[Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (Wii)]]'', and ''[[Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter]]''.

He is rescued from the [[Conch Ruins]]. Originally, he and his two crew mates were regarded as a dangerous nuisance to [[Rapoville]]. The pirates threatened to attack the village until [[Mayor|The Mayor]] promised them that they could have the newly-found pirate ship if they didn't cause any trouble. Pirate Beard proves his honor and worth in ''Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter'' when he serves as the captain of [[Turtle Rock]]. Pirate Beard was originally not a villager of the village; he was the captain of Raposa pirates as they went everywhere in their ship pirating everybody they could find.

When Pirate Beard is rescued, he returns to the village with his crew to begin plundering the Raposa. The Mayor promises them a ship if they don't attack anyone. The pirates agree and live in their new home.
Later on Pirate Beard announces a treasure hunt around the world which the villagers can choose to come on. [[Indee]] decides to join the crew and [[Jowee]] is offered a chance but doesn't take it so he can stay in the village with [[Mari]].

In the Wii version, Pirate Beard helps the player throughout the game, mainly while navigating [[Jangala Falls]], [[Treetop Village]], and [[Tundara]].

In [[Jangala]], he tells the [[Hero]] and [[Jowee]] that he lost his map over Jangala Falls, and with it, the location of the [[Monkey King]]. After Jowee and the Hero retrieve the map, Pirate Beard shows them the location of the Monkey King and sends them off to Treetop Village.

Later in the game, [[Mari]] tells Jowee and the Hero to ask Pirate Beard about the [[Icy Wastes]]. He tells the two that the Wastes are dangerous and without [[Sword|something sharp]], they'll never be able to make it through the area.

In the DS sequel Pirate Beard is one of the few Raposa not to be kidnapped by the shadow portals. He attempts to save the villagers by taking them to his ship which is however been stolen.
[[The Creator]] soon sends[[ Turtle Rock]] to collect the Raposa and take them on a voyage around the world to restore color and rescue the kidnapped [[Heather]].
Pirate Beard serves as a primary figure to the crew as he drives the ship to other islands.
He sadly vanished with every other Raposa when [[Mike]] woke up from his coma.

There is concept art of a [[Lavasteam]] Raposa named Mildew that doesn't appear in the game.

He's a dirty and dusty orange furred Raposa that wears dark green pants, a light green shirt, and a yellow undershirt. His green shirt is worn out and has several rips and tears; exposing the yellow shirt underneath. Mildew also wears a trashcan lid as a hat.

There are also sprites of Mildew located on [[Credits/Drawn to Life|Chern Fai's]] [https://cocefi.com/drawntolife website]. Here, Mildew's shirt is brown instead of green.

The way dirt is depicted on Mildew's concept art could be a reference to the character Pig-Pen from the Peanuts comic strip.

The existence of these sprites either imply that this is early spritework, or that Crazy Diggz was at one point going to appear as a more 'normal' Raposa in the game.

While very similar to the final version, these sprites feature Flint in a slightly different outfit. One of the more noticeable differences is that these unused sprites feature more dark brown along his gloves and hard hat. Another difference is that the unused 'Behind' sprite doesn't show the light on his hard hat like the final version.

There are unused sprites of a [[Lavasteam]] Raposa located on [[Credits/Drawn to Life|Chern Fai's]] [https://cocefi.com/drawntolife website].

He has brown fur, and wears blue suspenders with a white undershirt.

His outfit seems to be the same as [[Key|Key's]] outfit. However, Moe has the same outfit but recolored. The colors of Moe's outfit are mostly the opposite of this Raposa's. Another similarity to Moe is that he appears to have the exact same fur colors as Moe's alternate sprites. The amount of similarities to Moe might mean that this Raposa is either related to Moe, or is a younger version of Moe.

There are unused sprites of a Raposa located on [[Credits/Drawn to Life|Chern Fai's]] [https://cocefi.com/drawntolife website].

He has light grey fur, and wears the same outfit as a generic male Raposa from the first game. However, the same generic sprite is used as a base for multiple characters. It is very likely that the outfit is due to the sprites being unfinished.

While the purpose of this Raposa is unknown, he was grouped alongside a bunch of [[Lavasteam]] Raposa on Chern Fai's website, implying he was supposed to be from there.

This Raposa could've been another Lavasteam worker, maybe an even earlier version of [[Flint]], however it's also possible that this Raposa is a younger version of [[Miney]] or related to him. While that might be a stretch based on these sprites alone, there are unused sprites that could potentially belong to a younger version of his brother Moe.

While separated from the rest of the Lavasteam Raposa, the one on the upper left is depicted with a pick axe and a hard hat, implying that he may have been a miner at one point.

The upper right Raposa is depicted with a beret, paintbrush, and palette, implying that he may have been an artist.

The bottom left Raposa is depicted with a camera, implying that she was either meant to be a photographer or reporter.

The bottom right Raposa is depicted with a firefighter's helmet and a water hose, implying that he was meant to be a firefighter.

During one of Jowee's dreams late in the game, Heather and Mari get covered with shadow and merge together to form Wilfre.

Both characters had transformation sprites and idle sprites of them covered in shadow. However, the idle sprite of 'shadow Mari' isn't used in the game. Instead an idle sprite of shadow Wilfre is used.

The reason behind this is unknown.

According to the snippet of the Game Design Document he sent, the player would have to color the islands they wished to visit, and then draw a path from [[Turtle Rock]] to the desired island, avoid enemies like a "Moby Slick" or the "Dark Harbinger."
