The Droogle Leader's Sword is an item created by GuyThatExists that appears in the short stories Blank Slates, Salem Rose Pt. 1, The 35, and Blank Slates 3. It also appears in the one-shot GenericChallenge.
It is a blade that allows beings to cross into The Void when stabbed. It was held in the possession of the Droogle Leader at all times until it is taken by Joseph Tringali after the attempted coup. After Salem Rose attacks the Droogle Leader, he reclaims the sword and runs away from The Void. The Sword is with the Droogle Leader while he lives in Deadwood, though when he returns, Samuel takes possession of the sword.
Appearance[edit]
The Droogle Leader's Sword is a standard sword that doesn't have any unique physical traits.
Story[edit]
Blank Slates and GenericChallenge[edit]
The Droogle Leader's Sword is first seen in the Droogle Leader's possession when Mildew first arrives in The Void. He uses it to stab Alana, who had snuck into the Developer's Grove with Mildew. This is the first seen instance of the sword sending someone back into the void.
It is next used at the beginning of the Droogles coup, as he uses it to stab Joe, Franco, and Mildew, sending the three of them into the void.
It is next used to stab Alana once again, however, this occurrence alerts the Droogle Leader that their coup was only partially successful and that a war would be coming.
The next time the sword shows up is when Jinxy, Drakon, and the Droogle Killer arrive in the Dev Grove after falling into the Shadow Hole. While the Droogle Leader is distracted, Jinxy steals the sword and stabs the Droogle with it, sending him into the void. Jinxy then goes through the Grove, sending as many Droogles as he can into the void, until eventually stabbing himself and the Droogle Killer, leaving the sword with no owner.
When Joe, Mildew, and Franco return to the Dev Grove, they are met by Willham, Shadow Mari, and a now captured Droogle Leader. Shadow Mari picks up the sword and uses it to send Willham and herself back into the void when they finished their business. During this interaction, GenericChallenge appears in the Grove and thrusts himself onto the sword, much to Shadow Mari's confusion.
Salem Rose Pt. 1[edit]
After sneaking into The Void using Deadwood's advice, Miles uses the sword to send himself into the void. He is left groggy by the experience and is made fun of by Hose because of it.
Later on, Salem Rose, a version of Miles corrupted by the Shadow Stone, holds the Droogle Leader hostage and demands to be taken to the sword. The Droogle Leader obliges, and allows Salem Rose to enter the void. After Salem Rose vanishes, the Droogle Leader takes the sword and runs through the forest, away from the Grove.
The 35[edit]
Appearing in 2010, the Droogle Leader moves into Deadwood, where he hides his sword for the next five years. After telling both Deadwood and Samuel the truth about The Void and what his sword could do, he gifts it to Samuel, who uses it to send the Droogle Leader back to The Void.
Blank Slates 3[edit]
The Droogle Leader's sword doesn't appear again until the end of Blank Slates 3, where it is still in Samuel's possession, nearly 30 years later.
