–Galileo

Galileo is a Raposa who appears in Drawn to Life, Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (Wii), and Drawn to Life: Two Realms, usually as a supporting character. He lives at the Village Observatory in every game he appears. Galileo and the Template for the observatory are rescued from Star Forest.

Appearance

Galileo has yellow fur and a long white beard. He wears a red robe with a matching pointed red hat. He also appears to be wearing grey pants.

Story

Drawn to Life

Galileo is first seen after being rescued in Star Forest with his family. When he returns to the village, he asks the Hero to clear the Darkness over and re-draw the Village Observatory. After he moves in, he can be found outside the Observatory. Later on, Galileo is among the group that finds Mayor's body outside the Forest Gate, and he asks Dr. Cure if she could help him. He leaves the scene when Mari arrives.

Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (Wii)

Some time later, Galileo is stranded at the Village Observatory when his elevator disappears. After the Vertical Platform is created in Shadow City, he is able to come down. He is not introduced in the story until the Eastern Winds is unlocked, where he tells the Hero and Jowee that they would need wings to reach the Tree of Ages. Later, he spots many Large Shadow Bats above The Drifting Isles and tasks the Hero with defeating them.

Drawn to Life: Two Realms

About four years later, Galileo is still living in Rapoville. He plays no major role in the story of Drawn to Life: Two Realms.

Stargazer is an optional battle in Drawn to Life: Two Realms, has one segment, and takes place inside Galileo's mind. It uses the Space biome and plays the track "Celebration, Wapo Style".

Trivia

• Galileo is based on the 16th-century astronomer, Galileo Galilei.
• Galileo considers pirates to be smart, since they use the stars to navigate.
• In every game he appears in, Galileo resides in one of the most secluded locations of Rapoville, as the Observatory has only one access point in every game.
• Galileo and Mya are the only two named Raposa not to appear in Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter.
  • Galileo was originally planned to appear in the game, though he was eventually replaced with Samuel. The reason for this is unknown.
    • As a byproduct of this, Samuel's name in the Spanish version of Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter is still "Galileo", implying that the change happened late into development.
• In an early draft of Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (Wii), Galileo would have been directly attacked by the Giant Scribble Monster before the fight, swatting him into a tree and killing him.
  • This may have been why Galileo was removed from Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter, though this is merely speculation.
• In Drawn to Life: Two Realms, Galileo discovers a new planet, naming it "Raporia Prime", hinting that the Raposa planet may be named "Raporia".
• Galileo has 1 unused line of dialogue in Drawn to Life: Two Realms due to when his Imagination Battle is triggered:
  • "Beautiful to see all the Creator's designs, in the stars and here below." (End-Game Bark)
