The [[Monkey King]] was the owner of the Crystal Mask, which made him a person of interest for [[Circi]] and presumably [[Wilfre]]. It is assumed that she sent [[Shadow Walkers]] to the [[Treetop Village]] to take the mask, and the Monkey King locked himself away in his throne room with [[Zsasha]] and the mask.

It is assumed that she sent [[Shadow Walker]]s to the [[Treetop Village]] to take the mask, and the Monkey King locked himself away in his throne room with [[Zsasha]] and the mask.

When some [[Monkey|monkeys]] steal the [[Banya]] crops from [[Farmer Brown]], [[Jowee]], [[Mari]], and Circi wonder why the Monkey King would allow his subjects to cause mischief, and Jowee and the [[Hero]] go investigate. Eventually, the two show up inside the King's throne room and defeat the Shadow Walkers. The Monkey King, grateful for their help, releases Zsasha and gives them the Crystal Mask.
