Doodle Patrick is first encountered as the main quartet - SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward and DoodlePants - are accused by the Flying Dutchman of taking over his ship using Doodle Dudes. They figure out right away that he persuaded the Dutchman, realizing he is a copy of Patrick, only much smarter. Patrick is enamored by his doppelganger, but Squidward and SpongeBob try to prove themselves innocent. This backfires, however, when Patrick accidentally lets slip that he drew DoodleBob back to life, and the Dutchman chases them around in fury.

The Dutchman meets up with the group again following [[Below Deck]], thanking them for clearing the Doodle Duded from his ship. Doodle Patrick attempts to reinstate the Dutchman's fury at the group, but Squidward manages to convince him that he's been tricked. The Dutchman's ship gets taken by Doodle Patrick, and DoodlePants is tasked with defeating him.
