The village has many different features and buildings in it, some of which are [[:Category:Gates|Gates]] that lead to other parts of the world. It is roughly divided into different areas by the Gate locations and compass directions. It is the home of many of the main characters in the series, including [[Mari]], [[Jowee]], [[Mayor]], and [[Wilfre]]. It is also the home to [[Creation Hall]], a building dedicated to the [[Creator]] and the birthplace of the [[Hero]].

Before the events of ''[[Drawn to Life]]'', Rapoville was a thriving village dedicated to the [[Creator]] led by [[Mayor]], the [[Mayor (Position)|mayor]] of the village. One day, a popular villager named [[Wilfre]] challenged why it was forbidden to draw in the [[Book of Life]]. One night, Wilfre snuck into [[Creation Hall]] and stole the Book of Life, taking it back to his home and accidentally creating the [[Shadow]]. Running away, Wilfre took the Book and scattered the pages into the wind, upsetting the Creator. In their sadness, they sealed Creation Hall and abandoned the village.

As time went on, more and more parts of the village began to disappear, including the [[Sun]], the [[Banya]] crop, and even the [[Clock|passage of time]]. [[Darkness]] began creeping into the village and most villagers left, leaving only three families by the time the game begins.

At the beginning of the game, the Village is almost entirely covered in [[Darkness]] and nearly all the villagers have left. [[Mari]], one of the last remaining [[Raposa]], prays for the [[Creator]] to return. They do, and they grant the village a [[Hero]] to help restore the village. As the game progresses, the player must progress by bringing back [[Template]]s and Raposa from levels to bring life back to the Village, and clearing Darkness periodically to reveal new areas. Early into the game, they player is also prompted to name the Village. By the end of the game, the Hero has rescued 51 villagers.

Throughout the game, [[Wilfre]] returns to mock the villagers and the Hero, sending threats such as [[Frostwind]], [[Deadwood]], and the [[Angler King]] after them. At the end of the game, Wilfre corners [[Mayor]] by the [[Forest Gate]], demanding the Book of Life. When Mayor doesn't comply, Wilfre kills him, stealing the Book of Life from his body. Now having the Book of Life again, Creations begin to disappear once more. The Hero chases Wilfre through the [[Secret Door]], and defeats him, returning the Book of Life to the village. In the wake of her father's death, Mari becomes the next [[Mayor (Position)|mayor]] of the village.

Rapoville, called exclusively Raposa Village in [[Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (Wii)|this game]], acts once again as the main hub for the [[Hero]] and [[Raposa]]. The Village had some of it's objects stolen, such as [[Isaac's Door]] and the [[Village Bridge]], which the Hero must restore throughout the game. [[Circi]] believes that [[Zsasha]] is responsible for the crimes, but his innocence is proven when he is rescued from the [[Monkey King]]. After hearing from Zsasha that a shadowy figure was seen in [[Jangala]], Circi fears that [[Wilfre]] had returned and began to spread the news to the villagers.

Eventually, the Hero is tasked to collect the four [[Artifacts of Power]] to stop Wilfre, and after collecting one, Circi stores it in [[Village Hall]]. At the end of the game, Circi is revealed to have been in love with Wilfre, and uses the Artifacts, along with the [[Book of Life]], to try to recreate Wilfre, who was still deceased due to the events of the first game. She fails at doing so and creates the [[Giant Scribble Monster]], flooding the Village with ink in the process. The Hero and [[Mari]] team up to defeat the monster, and when they do, the Village all celebrate the Hero for saving them.

Even when the Village is revisited at the end of the game it cannot be explored in any way.

Four years later, Mari is still the mayor of the village and is working with a twice-revived Wilfre to reconnect with [[Mike]]. Throughout the game, the Hero and Mike visit both Rapoville and [[Belleview]], working together to stop [[Aldark]]'s plans. Near the middle of the game, Mari tasks the Hero to help deal with a group of lazy villagers. Later in the game, Mike escapes to the [[Watersong]] house and hides out until he builds up the courage to face [[Deputy Snyder]].
