In order to prevent an edit war, I'm making a thread here concerning the recent changes to Jowee's page. Primarily, this is about the recent revisions to the appearance section. While I appreciate making the article more concise, I believe the information regarding Jowee's appearance should be fully detailed, to include information about his pants.

Drawn to Life isn't consistent about how it portrays its characters, so it's generally best to describe all appearances and allow the reader to come to their own conclusions. For Jowee, this might be whether or not he wears pants, while for Mari it may be the style/color of her hair, etc. Nonetheless, the different portrayals are worth keeping as long as they're factual to a specific source.

But, since this is a collaborative wiki, we should have an open discussion here before making sweeping changes to these pages. In the meantime, I'm going to revert this page back to the initial edit until a conclusion is met.

Jowee does not wear pants in his official art. I highly suggest that that it's the same even with his original ds sprites;the sleeping sprite evidently does not have any bottoms. I don't think any male Raposa character with brown "pants" is legitimate.

Sprites are official art as well, and are just as relevant (if not more) than the boxart portrayals. ("Unofficial" art would likely only include things like the coat of arms, or other concept art, but I'd leave that for the community to decide.)

What do you suggest that the brown pixels are under the shirt then, for clarity? As for other male characters with brown pants, what about Indee? I can't see that he's wearing anything other than brown pants in his sprites.

I believe that official art and sprites are both important but I would like to mention that Jowee does not wear anything underneath his clothes in Drawn to Life The Next Chapter's opening and the sprites brown texture appears as such showing nothing about pants. Characters like Indee are wearing pants on. It's inconsistent with characters like Isaac wearing overall/pants and then not wearing any bottoms in Two Realms.

Personally I'm just wondering why any of these changes were needed. Comparing the current (reverted) version to the previous (edited) one, I just don't see how any of these new changes improve the page. For example, much of the Coat of Arms section was removed, and the introductory paragraph on the page is reworded, but I don't see good reason for either of those changes.

Personally, I see no positive to the recent changes made. If there's something that was missing in the DS games and showed up in other media, then that's something very much worth noting. The attempts to make the article concise also unnecessarily removed important information and made some parts harder to read.

I've locked the page and restored the changes to the appearance section until we can properly come up with an agreement.

The rest of the edits on the page look good to me. I'll let the community decide there, but here's the diff between the page's initial state and the latest: https://drawntolife.wiki/w/index.php?title=Jowee&type=revision&diff=20113&oldid=19822

Concerning the appearance section, what should we (as a community) do in terms of writing it out?
