== Where Fanon Belongs ==
The Drawn to Life Wiki has traditionally encouraged the inclusion of "fanon", fan-works, and theories on the wiki, with appropriate disclaimer and tone. Historically, this content was delegated to the User [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Namespaces namespace] (eg. [[User:BakiDance/Index]]), [[Special:WikiForum|forum posts]], and blogs. Separating fan material from content pages has allowed the Wiki to remain as a credible source of official ''Drawn to Life'' related material. However, this has also limited the ability to search and discover fan works, as content in the User space is not indexed, and has made collaboration more difficult.

Moving forward, the Drawn to Life Wiki will now enforce that fanon content is delegated to the new [https://drawntolife.wiki/en/Special:AllPages?from=&to=&namespace=3200 Fanon] namespace. Pages in this namespace are automatically indexed by the site allowing them to be more easily discovered. In addition, this namespace is easier to link to, removes ambiguity surrounding the contributors of a work, and clearly communicates to readers that the content is not canon.

The Drawn to Life Wiki has always maintained that fan content and theories are not to be included within article pages in order to remain an accurate source. Though this stance has not changed, future contributors of fan works ''will be allowed'' to include ''links'' to their fan works within the Fanon namespace on article pages, so long as they use the designated "Fan Works" section.
== What Content is Allowed ==
Most forms of fan-generated content is allowed on this wiki as long as it is being uploaded by the original creator (or with permission) and relates to ''Drawn to Life'' on some level. Everything from short stories, novels, fan-fiction, character pages, music, animations, videos, fanart, theories—and more—has a place and is welcome here. Still, we ask that users follow the following guidelines:
* Only the original author of a fan work may upload it to the wiki, unless permission is granted otherwise.
* All fan materials added to this wiki must be appropriate, or have valid warnings provided at the beginning of an article using the [[Template:Imbox|Imbox]] template.
** Materials featuring pornographic, pedophilia, incest, intense gore or violence, attacks on marginalized groups, or otherwise violate this site's community guidelines are strictly prohibited.
* Media in the form of external download links are prohibited.
The Drawn to Life Wiki supports all media in the forms of rich text and HTML/CSS, images, audio, and videos (through use of the <youtube> tag).

Unlike with article pages in the mainspace, fanon works may follow any format or style, and are under full control by the main contributor. This gives the owner of a fan work full control over how their fanon page is displayed.
