The Raposa Sports Complex is a building in Rapoville exclusive to Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (Wii). It is the home of the four minigames found in the Wii game, including Rapo-Kick, Rapo-Hoops, Rapo-Puck, Rapo-Net. Each of these games is controlled using the same basic control scheme, and they are all unlocked at the same time - after Mari explains the events of the first game to Circi.
Tower Appearance
The Raposa Sports Complex itself is a large, two story colosseum. It has an orange roof - possibly bricks or shingles. There are a few bushes around the building. The inside of the building is composed of five known rooms - a locker room, a soccer arena, a hockey area, a basketball arena, and a volleyball arena. The locker room is a generic locker room with tile floors, wooden benches, and wooden lockers lining the room. In all four of the courts the audience is always composed of multiple copies of notable Raposa, including some that don't appear in the main game, and the middle of the arena has the Red Team Logo printed.
The soccer arena appears as a standard grass arena, with wooden stands. The goals are two wooden posts with a red or a blue banner strung between them, with the red team goal on the left and the blue team goal on the right. The basketball arena appears as a typical wooden basketball court with traffic cones on each of the corners. The goals are regular basketball baskets on wooden poles, with the blue basket on the left and the red basket on the right. The hockey arena appears as a normal ice rick, with piles of snow around the edges. The wooden stands also have some ice on them, and there are sheets of glass built around the stands. The goal posts are the same as the soccer posts, although with snow around the base. The volleyball arena appears as a average sand field, with a net splitting the field in two.
Gear Minigames
All four Raposa Sports games are controlled the same: WiiB is used to pass the ball/puck, WiiA is used to shoot or steal the ball/puck, while holding WiiA can control the strength of your shot, WiiShake is used to protect the ball/puck, and AStick is used to move your team. In When playing with one player, you default to the red team. When playing with two players, the red team is Player 1, and the blue team is Player 2.
All four games have the same win condition - whichever team gets to five points first wins.
Rapo-Kick
Rapo-Kick is the Raposa world equivalent of soccer. The goal of the game is to get the ball into the opposite color goal, red into blue and blue into red. There are four players on the field for each team, three fielders and a goalie. At the beginning of each set, the ball is dropped onto the Red Team Logo.
Rapo-Hoops
Rapo-Hoops is the Raposa world equivalent of basketball. The goal of the game is to shoot the ball into the same color basket, red into red and blue into blue. There are only three players on the field for each team, all of them fielders. At the beginning of the game, the ball is dropped onto the Red Team Logo, and at the beginning of each set following, the team who got scored on shoots the ball onto the court from the sideline. Unlike regular basketball, each basket is only worth one point, regardless of where the ball is shot from.
Rapo-Puck
Rapo-Puck is the Raposa world equivalent of hockey. The goal of the game is to shoot the puck into the opposite color goal, red into blue and blue into red. There are four players on the field for each team, three fielders and a goalie. At the beginning of each set, the puck is dropped onto the Red Team Logo.
Rapo-Net
Rapo-Net is the Raposa world equivalent of volleyball. The goal of the game is to keep the ball in the air when it's on your side of the net, and to shoot it into the ground on the opposite side of the net. There are only two players on the field for each team. At the beginning of each set, the ball is launched from above the net and randomly into one of the two sides. In lieu of shooting and stealing the ball, WiiA is used to jump instead.
Trivia Trivia
* The art for the Raposa in the minigames is made of screenshots of models used earlier in development, seen here.
** Out of all the Raposa seen in the crowd, Tubba and Count Choco do not appear in the main game.
** There also appears to be a base template of a female Raposa in the audience.
* According to files found in a package shared by Ken Capelli, there was planned to be a tennis-based minigame as well.
** The sound effect of a tennis racket hitting a ball can still be heard when playing Rapo-Net, when a player hits the Ball.
** Also according to his package, the "Hero"s controlled during these games were planned to have more accessories as separate creations, including a hockey stick and a tennis racket.
*** Although not confirmed, the Skates used in the Icy Wastes may have been a remnant of this time, as they were found with the hockey stick, tennis racket, and other multiplayer creations in the package.
* The instruction booklet for Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (Wii) erroneously calls Rapo-Hoops "Rapo-Hoop", dropping the "s".
