The rust-fur gene was originally a mutation found in a Raposa from Shadow City, but as it allowed the Raposa to live longer, it began to spread.
Raposa with rust colored fur age at a rate that is drastically slower than a typical Raposa, with some Rust-Furred Raposa living to be around 500 years old. The Rust-Fur gene itself can also be harnessed and used as a medicinal tool to cure injuries and natural deaths such as strokes, heart attacks, and cancer. The Rust-Furred gene is recessive, which means that certain Raposa can carry it and pass it onto their children while not having the appearance or abilities of a Rust-Furred Raposa.
