Rust-Furred Raposa are a special subspecies of Raposa the previously inhabited Shadow City before it was attacked by Shadow. They currently reside all around the Raposa realm, but the only known groups of rust-furred Raposa live in Rapoville, Lavasteam, and Wilfre's Wasteland. As they are Raposa, they all believe in the Creator, although some have actively worked against them, such as Athys and Circi.

As they are Raposa, they all believe in the Creator, although some have actively worked against them, such as Athys and Circi. The rust-fur gene was originally a mutation found in a Raposa from Shadow City, but as it allowed the Raposa to live longer, it began to spread.

Raposa with rust colored fur age at a rate that is drastically slower than a typical Raposa, with some Rust-Furred Raposa living to be around 500 years old. The Rust-Fur gene itself can also be harnessed and used as a medicinal tool to cure injuries and natural deaths such as strokes, heart attacks, and cancer. The Rust-Furred gene is recessive, which means that certain Raposa can carry it and pass it onto their children while not having the appearance or abilities of a Rust-Furred Raposa.
