Why Wilfre is Click’s son: A full essay

This probably sounds completely insane. However, I genuinely believe that this was fully intended and completely canon to the story of Drawn to Life. Firstly, I am going to talk about Click’s lines in the Story and how they hint towards him being Wilfre’s father. After the hero breaches the Space Fortress and enters the council room with Jowee they find out that the mayor died without an heir so Click pretended that there was a council ruling over everyone. It was tiring for Click so Wilfre suggested that Click build the space fortress. “All I wanted was to help my friends, so Wilfre suggested I create the Space Fortress” while at first glance this may seem inconspicuous. At further glance it seems odd, since Wilfre has been causing his problems while under the disguise of Salem, meaning that it would make no sense for Wilfre to suggest that Click build the Space Fortress himself, unless Click is Wilfre’s father. Then it would make perfect sense. Click would obviously trust Wilfre’s word and Click mentions Click so casually. He doesn’t say something along the lines of “This stranger named Wilfre” he just casually names Wilfre. After Jowee is surprised that Wilfre is involved, Click then says “Oh, do you know Wilfre?” Again, I feel like he is wording it casually. He is asking them if they know who Wilfre is. Casually mentioning Wilfre would be strange if Wilfre was just a guy who showed up to the Galactic Jungle one day, but not strange if Wilfre was his son. If Wilfre was a guy who just showed up to the Galactic Jungle, Click would say something like “You know who Wilfre is, what do you know about him?” and Click would have questions about Wilfre’s motivations and where he came from. If Click were Wilfre’s father, he would obviously know who Wilfre is and pretty much know lots of things about him. I will go deeper into Wilfre’s backstory later but for now I’ll discuss some other details about this theory involving how the two Raposa look. Wilfre and Click both have grey hair. Though obviously two people having the same hair does not mean that they are relatives. However, there is another detail that people do not notice. Wilfre has bangs covering his eye, he most likely combed that over. Checking Wilfre’s bangs it shows three spikes at the side of the bangs, in concept art Click is also depicted with hair with spikes on it. Though his hair is nearer. If you comb Wilfre’s bangs around it would be similar to Click’s hair, again just because two people have the same haircut they’re not related but I thought that this was worth a mention. Also, there is Sock, one of Wilfre's disguises. Sock has an outfit very similar to Click’s. Finally, in TNC they both don’t have fur on their hands. both have overalls on. Again, just because people wear the same clothes doesn't mean that they’re related. However, all this evidence is useful to back up my claims with the other evidence I have.

Now I will discuss elements of the game’s story and how it relates to Click being Wilfre’s father. Firstly, there’s Wilfre’s interactions in the Galactic Jungle under the disguise of Sock. Wilfre constantly tries to get Jowee and the Hero to leave the village “Can we give up and go back to the ship yet?” “We’re just wasting our time here.... we should give up and look somewhere else.” are some examples of Wilfre says in the Galactic Jungle. He also tries to prevent the Hero and Jowee from storming the Space Fortress. Why though? While yes, Wilfre would not want the colour to be restored, I think Wilfre has another motive to prevent the Hero from storming the fortress. Wilfre doesn’t want to see his father get hurt. Wilfre knows that Click would do anything to stop the truth about him coming out. He would’ve figured out that storming the fortress and taking a spaceship would’ve killed Click, and even if it didn’t, Wilfre knew that the truth coming out would’ve been bad for his father. As it would’ve been revealed that Click had essentially been lying to everyone he could have been banished or executed. So, while yes, Wilfre did have one motivation to get everyone to leave Galactic Jungle, he also had another. Also note that Wilfre didn’t go in the council chambers while the Hero and Jowee did. Maybe Wilfre didn’t want to see something bad happen to his father.

Now I will talk about the games backstory and how it could fit with my theory. Years before the first game Wilfre suggested to Click that he should create the Space Fortress. This is said by Jowee after the truth about the council was reveled “Click has kept the village intact all these years, why not choose him to be your mayor?” Now without the knowledge that Click is Wilfre’s father this doesn’t make sense. The events in Lavasteam and Watersong are set up shortly before the second game began, though the events in Galactic Jungle happened years before the first game. This wouldn’t make much sense due to the fact that Wilfre’s main goal is to most likely cause confusion and panic, draining the colours and destroying the villages, Galactic Jungle happening years before the first game began makes little sense, unless you take into account that Wilfre is Click’s son. Wilfre, hearing that his father is having trouble would go to Galactic Jungle and suggest that the Space Fortress is created. Speaking of this, Wilfre’s actions in the Galactic Jungle are not maltitols and they do not seek to destroy the village. Even if it they may be misguided, unlike killing Rose and making Watersong sink, and activating the Giant Robosa to destroy Lavasteam. Not once does Wilfre do something like hijack a spacecraft or something. If Wilfre wasn’t Click’s son, it wouldn’t make any sense, since Wilfre wouldn't care about Galactic Jungle, unless he was from there, in that case he probably wouldn't want to destroy the place.

Now I will discuss themes of the games and how it is absent from Galactic Jungle, unless you take my theory into account. Throughout the two games there is a consistent theme of family and how Wilfre effects that. The first game has Mari and her father the mayor. Mari feels like she cannot be a good mayor with her low self-esteem and after Wilfre murders the mayor she’s forced into that position. The second game has Miles trying to save his mother, Rose, after she’s tricked into giving up her voice due to Wilfre’s manipulation, there’s Moe, trying to stop his brother Miney’s madness after Wilfre manipulation and finally Wilfre is trying to stop Mike from waking up from his coma and reuniting with his sister, Heather. There is a theme of family throughout the first two games that is everywhere except for in Galactic Jungle, unless you consider Wilfre being Click’s son, then it makes sense. Wilfre suggested to Click that the Space Fortress is built, meaning that Wilfre caused problems with his own family, meaning that the theme of family still fits for Galactic Jungle.

Now I will discuss details found in the game and how they also hint towards Wilfre being Click’s son. Firstly, there is a recurring symbol used in both Wilfre’s Wasteland and Galactic Jungle, the angry face. A face that only appears in those two worlds, with the exception of twice in Watersong at the boss gate. It would be odd that the two worlds that have this reoccurring symbol also have hints towards the two characters associated with those worlds being related. The ones on the walls in Wilfre’s Wasteland are even exactly the same as the ones in Galactic Jungle. In addition to this the world art of Wilfre’s Wasteland and the banner art both prominently depict Galactic Jungle’s floating pawn pieces, yes, I admit that Galactic Jungle is an amalgamation of the three worlds, however, it is strange for the pawns to be a main focus of the world, since the other areas aren’t represented that well in Wilfre’s Wasteland art. Wilfre’s boss in The Next Chapter features a crown on the top of his throne. I’ll remind you that Crowns are commonly featured in the Galactic Jungle and are a symbol of chess, with the crown Wilfre using resembling a queen's crown, the queen being the most powerful piece in chess, it makes sense that Wilfre would use the crown due to the symbolism it has. His boss cloud also has an angry face on it, the same one heavily featured in the Galactic Jungle and Wilfre’s Wasteland. Is it a coincidence that two symbols prominently featured in the world where it’s heavily implied that Wilfre is from is on his cloud? In isolation yes, but with my evidence no. In the council room there’s a wizard of oz type floating face in floating liquid, this face heavily resembles Wilfre’s shadow form.

Now I will discuss Wilfre’s minions, the Ameba. They appear in Ghost Ship levels in Watersong, this makes sense since Wilfre had them under control and used them to help him steal Rose’s voice from her. They also appear in Lavasteams’ Mine Cart Mayhem. Which may be due to the fact that Mari wandered in there while she was helping Wilfre. They also appear in Wilfre’s Wasteland which is obviously due to them being WIlfre’s minions. However, they appear in two Galactic Jungle levels and the Galactic Jungle district in Drawn to Life Two Realms, heavily implying that they’re natives to the Galactic Jungle. Wilfre having Galactic Jungle creatures wouldn’t make sense unless he was from there. Which heavily implies that Wilfre is Click’s son.

Throughout this theory I gave evidence suggesting that Wilfre was born in the Galactic Jungle, but you might say that it doesn’t prove that he is Click’s son. However, Click doesn’t appear to be a native, he probably moved there, so his son would most likely look and dress like a non-native as well. Since his father has outside customs, he would adopt the customs of his father.

Not all theories are perfect, and I admit that the game doesn’t state that Wilfre is Click’s son, Click doesn’t refer to Wilfre as his son in any point, nor do any of the villagers' reference Click having a son, but other than this my theory is otherwise pretty sound. To end this theory, I will state that Click and Wilfre both have similar ideologies. When Jowee and the hero confronts Click he states this “When the mayor passed away without an heir, the village fell into despair, we needed someone to lead us. “Our lives needed rules, structures, someone to guide and protect us” while Wilfre says after he kills the hero “Aww, the poor little Hero who lost his color. Frail and weak! Just like the ones that believe in you, but do they really believe? They are too busy looking out for themselves. Risking everything for fame and glory... Hoarding resources, and writing rules to support the structure, instead of the life it was meant to protect. Now, blinded by the beauty of creation, they have lost connection to the world that we create! The perfect storm is at hand, and with this I will end your reign of tyranny once and for all.” These statements could be viewed in a few ways. Either an ideological divide between Wilfre and his father, since Wilfre claims it’s bad for structure to be placed over Raposa life and Click stating that there needs to be someone watching over them, something that Wilfre would disagree with due to the fact that he despises the Creator. However, Wilfre does help his father in keeping up the Façade by suggesting he creates the Space Fortress. So, I choose to view it in another light, The Structure that Wilfre refers to is different than the structure that Click refers to, and the two men both prioritize someone's lives over everything else. Remember that Wilfre had to have gotten his views from somewhere and while Click doesn’t appear to have the same views as Wilfre he did think of the council all by himself. Wilfre and Click both wanted to help Raposa, Click by staging the council and Wilfre by wanting to depose the creator. Both involve a group of Raposa ruling over everyone instead of just one Raposa, or at least the idea of a group of Raposa in Click’s case. Wilfre hates the idea of Monarchs, due to the fact that he tries to destroy Lavasteam and Watersong, two Monarchies. He also wants to make everyone hate them by making Miney a king and wanting people to dislike the idea of kings. While Galactic Jungle is the only place where the mayor is elected. Is it a coincidence that the Raposa who hates dictators and the Raposa that is elected have hints towards them being related?

So, I end my theory with this. With the mountains of evidence I have, it’s pretty hard to deny this, I just made a few jokes about them being related at first but as I looking deeper and deeper the evidence became undeniable. So yeah, that’s it, unless I find something else this is all I have. Wilfre is most likely Click’s son.
