Soot is a character in the Vignette universe.
Soot is a very lax Raposa from Lavasteam. Working as a chimneysweep, Soot is a laid-back Raposa who enjoys the simpler things in life.
Appearance
Soot's fur is black, messy, and he is almost always covered in soot and other dust or grime. His fur is very thick and is "styled" in a way so that it completely covers his eyes. He wears an outfit that is similar to the Chimneysweep Baki, having a pale brown cap and overalls, with a light blue-grey shirt underneath.
History
Soot was born in Lavasteam. Being orphaned at a young age along with the harsh living conditions of Lavasteam, Soot was forced to live on the streets for most of his life and made a small living off selling scrap materials for a while, before eventually becoming a chimneysweeper. During his work as a chimneysweeper, Soot was mostly stationed to clean out the deeper mines and factory levels of Lavasteam, leading him to encounter many Chimneysweep Bakis. Unsure if they were there as forced labourers, or if they simply enjoyed doing it, Soot ended up on good terms with them regardless. He would often share his lunch with the Bakis and they would keep each other company during their time sweeping.
By the time Soot was 16, a new Raposa moved into the village of Lavasteam, known as Peaches. Due to Lavasteam being a somewhat unkind place for foreigners, Soot was one of the few locals who offered to show Peaches around and help him find a place to stay in. The two of them became fast friends.

Peaches is Soot's best friend. They first met when Peaches moved to Lavasteam, Soot was the one who introduced Peaches into the village and showed him around.
