Drawn to Life Transcript
What follows is a complete transcript of Drawn to Life, including scene transitions and extra dialog from non-important characters. During the game, the player is sometimes presented with opportunities to respond to the game's characters by selecting predetermined dialog options. These moments will be shown in this transcript through Tabbers. Character emotion and actions will be expressed within parenthesis at the beginning or end of each character quote on this page, in correlation to the in-game sprite, emotion bubbles, or actions seen in the game at that time.
“Optional Dialogue” refers to dialogue that can be accessed through interacting with Raposa while the Hero is able to freely move about the village. Also, some quotes may be duplicated in certain sections of the game. In this case, the duplicated entries will not be shown in this transcript. Generic Raposa Characters do not have nameplates in the game, with the exception of Cindi. Mya's text will use her name, despite it not being used in-game. The other Generic Raposa Characters will be labelled by their affiliation (i.e. Farmer Brown's Son, Tubba's Mother, etc.).
The player character, the Hero, will simply be referred to as "Hero" within this transcript. All grammatical/spelling errors within the game's script will be kept, as originally written, in this transcript. Certain character's identities may not be revealed at certain points during the game. At these points, the transcript will read "????", with the character's true identity being hidden in alt text. Hover over the text to see the character's true identity. A character who's identity is never revealed will simply be labeled as "???".
Introduction
(The screen fades into an open green book. A picture of Rapoville appears in the book.)
- Village: There are many stories to be told, but this one is special. This is our story.
(The page turns to show a picture of three Raposa holding up the Book of Life.)
- The Book: Long before we Raposa existed, there was the Book of Life, the design of the Creator...
(The page turns to show a picture of the Creator - a human hand using a DS stylus to draw water.)
- Creation: The Creator drew everything in this book and brought it into existence.
(The page turns with no picture on the next page.)
- Planet: First the Creator formed a circle and drew our world.
[The player then draws something in the box provided on the bottom screen.]

- Forest: Then, the Creator populated the world with our beautiful forests.
[The player then draws something in the box provided on the bottom screen.]
(The page turns with no picture on the next page.)
- Raposa: Even we Raposa were drawn to life by the Creator's hand.
[The player then draws something in the box provided on the bottom screen.]
(The page turns to show a picture of Shadows.)
- Darkness: But that's all changed now. The Darkness has come, and the Creator has abandoned us.
(The page turns to show a picture of a Raposa leaving Rapoville.)
- The Fall: There's no more need for this book. There's no more need for us...
(The book fades to black.)
- ????: Creator... We need your help...
- ????: The Eternal Flame just went out...
- ????: and the Darkness is creeping in.
- ????: You're the only hope we have left...
- ????: Help us... Please...
(The screen fades into Mari's House. Mari is standing inside.)
- Mari: Why don't you respond! How could you just sit there and be silent!?
- Mari: Now almost everyone has left the village...
- Mari: You are the Creator of everything. This is your world!
- Mari: Bring it back to what it once was! Please...
- Creator: I have heard your cry and will provide a Hero
- Creator: to help restore the village.
- Creator: But first, you must gather the villagers
- Creator: and bring them to Creation Hall
- Mari: Is that really you!? After all this time!! I knew you would help us!
- Mari: I'll go find Jowee and my dad!
- Creator: I will not help you.
- Mari: Then I guess it's all over...
(Outside Jowee's House. Mari walks to his door.)
- Mari: Jowee!!! Jowee come quick!
- Mari: He's not answering! Creator can you tap on his house and wake him up?
- Tip!: Tap on Jowee's House (3) times to wake him up!
[Optional Dialogue]
- Mari: Creator, can you tap on Jowee's House?
[The player taps Jowee's House three times.]
- ????: Huh? ...What's going on?
(Jowee walks out of his house.)
- Jowee: Hey Mari... I was just taking a nap...
- Mari: The Creator just spoke to me!
- Jowee: What?! That's crazy! The Creator hasn't spoken to anyone in years...
- Mari: I'm supposed to gather everyone in front of Creation Hall! Where's my dad?
- Jowee: ...At the gate, he was trying to convince Isaac and his wife to stay...
- Mari: We have to stop them before we leave!
(Mari and Jowee walk south.)
(At the Village Entrance.)
- Isaac: Losing the Eternal Flame was the last straw. Now my shop is covered in Darkness!
- Mya: And now our daughter is gone! We have to find her...
- Mayor: I understand... But we should go out together.
(Isaac walks up to Mayor.)
- Isaac: This can't wait any longer... We're leaving.
(Isaac and Mya leave Rapoville.)
- ????: Stop! Dad!! We have to speak with you!
(Mari and Jowee walk to Mayor.)
- Mayor: Oh Mari! And Jowee! I'm glad you're here.
- Mayor: Isaac's daughter went missing! They just left to go search for her.
- Mari: Dad! The Creator just spoke to me!
- Mari: The Creator told me to gather everyone and bring them in front of Creation Hall.
- Mayor: Young rapo, you've been talking about the Creator for months now... Let it go.
- Mari: But Dad... It's true!!
- Mayor: Mari... Stop... We have more important things to worry about.
- Mari: You can't be serious, Dad! What about the Creator!?
- Jowee: I'm with Mari... We should at least give the Creator a chance!
- Mayor: Mari! Stop with this nonsense!!
- Mayor: The Creator abandoned us a long time ago! The villagers are what's important now!
(Mayor walks north into the village. Mari walks to Jowee.)
- Mari: This is crazy! No one is listening to me!
- Mari: You believe me Jowee... Don't you...?
- Jowee: Maybe we should listen to your pop... It's Isaac's daughter!
- Mari: Fine then... I'll go myself... No wonder the Creator abandoned us!
(Mari walks to Creation Hall.)
- Jowee: Oh rapo... What am I getting myself into!?
(Jowee follows behind her.)
(At Creation Hall. Mari walks to the sealed door.)
- Mari: The door is still sealed!
(Jowee walks next to her.)
- Mari: The Creator told me to gather the villagers here... but everyone is gone!
- Jowee: Uh... I'm still here...
- Jowee: Maybe you should ask the Creator for help?
- Mari: Good idea! Creator... Could you open the door?
- Tip!: Tap on the door to unseal Creation Hall!
[Optional Dialogue]
- Jowee: Only the Creator can open the door...
- Mari: I wonder what's inside Creation Hall...
- Mari: It's been sealed for as long as I can remember...
[The player taps on Creation Hall's door and the door vanishes.]
- Mari: Let's hurry inside.
(Mari and Jowee enter Creation Hall.)
(Inside Creation Hall. Mari and Jowee examine bookshelves.)
- Jowee: Mari... Look at all these books...
- Mari: Creator... Why did you bring us here? What do you need us to do?
- Creator: Your request requires a Hero...
- Mari: A Hero? Why do we need a Hero? Just bring back the villagers and get rid of the Darkness...
- Creator: Mari... Your father is in trouble.
- Jowee: Who the rapo was that? Was that the Creator?!
- Mari: What?! My dad is in trouble?
- Creator: I will explain more over time...
- Mari: What?! My dad is in trouble?
- Jowee: Who the rapo said that?!
- Creator: I will create a Hero to help you.
- Jowee: Wow! The Creator spoke! Mari, you weren't kidding!
- Creator: Walk over to the wooden mannequin.
(Mari and Jowee walk over to the wooden mannequin.)
- Creator: I fill this mannequin with my presence!
- Creator: I will add color to its frame!
- Creator: And movement to its joints!
- Creator: Together, we will restore the village...
[The player then draws their Hero.]
- Draw!: Welcome to the Creation Hall! Here you can draw your own creation!
- Guides:
will bring up pre-drawn guides.
[The game cycles through six guides.]
- Tip!:
bring the guide to life!
- Tip!: Use the +Control Pad to scroll through guides!
- Tip!: Use the clear button to start a new drawing.
(Inside Creation Hall. The mannequin has been replaced with "Hero".)
- Jowee: Wow! The mannequin came to life!!
- Mari: Creator... Does it have a name?
[The player then names "Hero".]
- Jowee: Hi "Hero"... Nice to meet you!
- Mari: We need to go find my dad... The Creator said he was in trouble!
- Jowee: Well "Hero"... Show us what you can do!
(Hero does a dance and runs out of the building.)
- Mari: I guess we should follow!
(Mari and Jowee exit Creation Hall.)
(Outside Creation Hall. "Hero" stands outside the door. Mari and Jowee walk out of the building.)
- ????: Where's my mummy!!!
- Jowee: That sounds like Isaac's daughter, Cindi...
- Mari: Hero, can you find Cindi? She must be close by...
(The camera pans to show Cindi behind a tree.)
- New Task!: Search around Creation Hall for Cindi!
- Info!: Press
to interact with Raposa.
[Optional Dialogue]
- Jowee: Cindi is probably hiding somewhere... She loves to play hide and seek!
- Mari: Have you looked behind any trees? That's where I would hide!
(Cindi runs out from behind a tree, meeting Mari and Jowee.)
- Cindi: Mawi!!! It's a monster wapo!!
(Cindi hides behind Mari.)
- Mari: It's okay lil rapo... "Hero" is only here to help...
- Mari: "Hero", thanks for finding Cindi... We should go find her parents now!
- Mari: Meet us at the Village Entrance, okay? It's to the south.
(Cindi, Mari, and Jowee leave for the Village Entrance.)
- New Task!: Speak with Mari at the Village Entrance!
- Info!: Hold

(At the Village Entrance.)
- Mari: Alright, let's go search the Snow Fields!
(Mari, Jowee, Cindi, and "Hero" begin to leave but are stopped by Wilfre.)
- ????: ...What do we have here? Silly rapos? And their cute wittle creation?
- ????: You're too late, the Mayor is already done for!
- Mari: You better not hurt my dad!!
- Jowee: Who the rapo are you!?
- ????: No one told you a creepy bedtime story about me? Pity...
- ????: If you insignificant rapos must know my name, it's Wilfre.
- Wilfre: You can forget about rebuilding this village.
- Wilfre: I've torn up all the pages in the Book of Life...
- Wilfre: They should be scattered around the world by now!
- Wilfre: Anyway, I bid you farewell. I have much to attend to.
- Wilfre: To be sure you don't attempt a pathetic rescue, I'll cover this bridge in Darkness.
(Wilfre leaves and covers the bridge in Darkness.)
- Jowee: Oooh! That Wilfre!
- Mari: ...What do we do now?
- Jowee: We should go find your dad... He'll know what to do.
- Jowee: The Village Entrance is blocked by Darkness...
- Jowee: We could use the village Snow Gate to get there...
- Mari: "Hero", meet us at the Snow Gate, ok?
- Jowee: Yeah, it's northwest of here. Just follow the path until it ends!
(Jowee, Mari, and Cindi run to the Snow Gate.)
(At the Snow Gate.)
- Mari: Hi "Hero"... This is the village Snow Gate...
- Mari: We should probably stay behind... The Snow Fields can be dangerous!
- Mari: Please save my dad... He shouldn't be that far away...
- Jowee: Just walk up to the gate and push it open!
- Info!: Tap on the village Snow Gate!
[Optional Dialogue]
- Cindi: Wupa...
- Jowee: Walk up to the gate and press
- Jowee: Hurry and rescue the Mayor!
- Mari: Walk up to the gate and press
During Level
[Signs]
- Welcome!: Press to jump!
(The camera pans to the Shadow Goo.)
- Info!: Use your stylus to scrape away the Shadow Goo!
- Info!: The percentage of total Shadow cleaned will show in the corner.
- Fight!: A Shadow Walker is up ahead! Jump on it three times!
- Info!: Clear the Shadow Goo to stop them from appearing!
- Info!: While in the air, press +Control Pad down and the A button to Ground Bounce!
- Fight!: There is a Baki ahead! Use a Ground Bounce!
- Info!: When you see a green door with an arrow, tap on it!
- Info!: You can gain coins, or even access hidden areas!
- Draw!: Here is where you can draw objects to help you along your journey
- Draw!: so first, let's draw a Fluffy Cloud to help get you across this gap!
[The player then draws the Cloud.]
- Info!: Press

- Congrats!: You found the Mayor!
- Mayor: Who are you?!
- Mayor: Oh? ...A Creation Hero? So the Creator is back!
- Mayor: I was such a fool for not listening to Mari...
- Mayor: We should get back to the village... It's dangerous here!
(Mayor and "Hero" leave Snow Fields.)
Post-Level
(At the Snow Gate. Mayor and "Hero" emerge from the gate.)
- Mari: Dad! You made it back... I was so worried...
- Mayor: All thanks to "Hero"... I'm sorry for leaving when I did.
- Mayor: I didn't catch up with Isaac or his wife...
- Mayor: I hope they're ok...
(Cindi walks into the Snow Gate.)
- Mari: "Hero", Cindi ran into the Snow Fields! You need to bring her back!
- Mayor: "Hero", I found something in the Snow Fields that might help you...
- Mayor: It's a Snowshooter page for the Book of Life...
- Mayor: The Creator can draw it for you!
- Draw!: Draw your Snowshooter!
[The player then draws the Snowshooter.]
Mt. Snowy
Pre-Level
- Info!: Press in the Snow Fields to fire your weapon!
- Mayor: You can aim using the +Control Pad.
- Mayor: "Hero", you'll also see torn pages from the Book of Life in the Snow Fields...
- Mayor: You'll need to collect four of them to exit the level gate...
- Mayor: Please hurry, Isaac and his family need your help!
- Info!: Tap on the village Snow Gate!
[Optional Dialogue]
- Jowee: Hey you did a pretty good job designing that Snowshooter!
- Mari: Cool, is that a Snowshooter?
- Mayor: Rescue Isaac and his family!
During Level
- Info!: Ground Bounce this snow pile to restock on snowballs!
- Draw!: We need a dark and Stormy Cloud. These will move around and help your progress!
[The player then draws the Stormy Cloud.]
- Congrats!: You found Isaac!
- Isaac: You... You saved me! Thank the Creator!
- Isaac: I own a shop back in the village... I'll meet you at the exit gate!
- Info!: Each page from the Book of Life is torn into 4 parts!
- Info!: Collect all 4 parts during the level and visit the exit gate!
- Draw!: Here you can redraw your first platform!
