He is bored of being a miner and yet competitive with other miners.

Banya Crystals? What were you born in, a barn? Them bright blue guys sticking out of the walls are the Banya Crystals. You can find a bunch north of here in Crystal Caverns. Mining's hard work, but you might find some loose ones.
