As a student of protective magic at the College of Runes, Ravenna got a firsthand experience of the changes Nesilene underwent during its Medieval period. She was the target of the Sulars' attempts to rewrite history, being emblematic of the very problem they imagined to have caused their decline. During her stay, her connection with her roommate, Cara Lan, eventually grew into a hidden romantic relationship.

Born during Nesilene's medieval period, at age 13 she immigrated to the Sular Empire to study magic at the College of Runes. While there, she became the target of the empire's attempts to rewrite history, in spite of her accomplishments. Her struggles moved her closer to the few friends she did have, especially to her roommate Cara Lan. Eventually, the duo's bond transformed into a hidden romantic relationship.

Despite her efforts, she was unable to conceal her relationship with her girlfriend, and would be forcibly made into an example by the Sulars. Ever since, the duo has lived in mobile isolation, unable to reintegrate into public life regardless of what they try.
