Topic on Talk:Drawn to Life Transcript

The recent changes to the page made since January threw out both the old formatting and a large chunk of the page's content. It also threw out the template that allowed for optional dialogue to be hidden or shown, without removing the description of that function from the page's opening paragraphs.

I appreciate the effort made here, but why was it remade from scratch? It has less content and functionality than it used to. Why wasn't it just expanded from where it was?

I'm proposing a full revert to the way the page was before January. Specifically, to this: https://drawntolife.wiki/w/index.php?title=Drawn_to_Life_Transcript&oldid=19484 As described before, this revert would actually result in the page becoming more complete and functional.

I will perform this revert if there are no comments within a week of posting this request.

I love when I type a response and it gets deleted by the page refreshing.

Anyways, the reason I've been making these changes was to make this transcript more in line with the other two completed ones. As for the optional dialogue, the old version required you to scroll all the way back to the top of the page to change your view, while this version let's you pick and choose what you want to see. One by one is better than all or nothing imo. That opening paragraph is 100% my bad though, I'll fix that in my next update.

This format is also easier to edit imo, mainly because it's what I used for the other two transcripts and let's be honest, I'm the only one making these. As for the amount of content right now, that's simply because I've been busy. I plan on doing more tonight, and was hoping to get all the way to Frostwind, which would be more than the original transcript had.

I would also be okay if we reformatted the other two transcripts to the old format, but someone else would have to lead that change. I've done my time with TNC and Wii, any other formats would have to be done by someone else.

I hope my point came across well, and I honestly don't mean any disrespect, I just think this format is vastly better than the old one.

I reached out to BakiDance and he said he intended to continue the transcript. He put a ton of time and effort into making it look as nice as possible, and I feel like he was slighted by not being asked before it was all erased. He's been busy too.

I spoke with other members of staff. I'm sorry, but we've decided to revert it. In the future, please ask or at least say something before you erase an entire article, especially one with so much effort already put in.

You are still welcome to expand the article, but it must be within the original format. We can discuss bringing the other articles to the same style later. BakiDance says he'd be happy to help with that eventually.
