Unused & Removed Features/SB
Like the other games in the series, Drawn to Life: SpongeBob SquarePants Edition has some content that cannot be accessed in the final game, albeit with likely the lowest amount unused in the entire Drawn to Life Series. Unlike the mainline entries, however, every piece of cut and unused content archived here were found solely within the game files.
Coloring Book Mode Pages[edit]
Five unused images were found in the game files, all grouped with the Coloring Book Mode pages that appear in the final game. This may suggest they were intended for use in that mode alongside them, although it is unknown why they were cut. Of these, Plankton's page would've been his sole appearance in the game.
Distorted DoodleBob Sprite[edit]
This unused sprite of DoodleBob was found alongside his other sprites used in-game. It is unknown why this was cut or what purpose it would have had, although it appears to be a more distorted variant of his stunned sprites.
Unused Rocket Ship Sprite[edit]
Hidden alongside the sprites for the Doodle UFO and Asteroid enemies was a sprite of a rocket ship not seen in the final game. It is believed to be an unused template design for the player's Rocket Ship creation, however this is simply conjecture as no other indication has been found.
Multi-Card Play Character Portraits[edit]
Some portraits of the four playable characters in Multi-Card Play - SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy and Mr. Krabs - have been found alongside their respective banners used on the bottom screen. This may suggest that these were meant to be used in a potential character selection screen before a multiplayer match starts, evidenced further by the unused music track titled "Character Select".
Music[edit]
Language Select[edit]
The track title "Language Select" suggests that this may have been used during the language selection screen upon startup. It is unknown why this track was cut.
Nose Flute[edit]
This nose flute is an altered version of the TV Series' iconic nose flute fanfare used in Altron's previous SpongeBob DS game, Atlantis SquarePantis. It is unknown why this track was cut, although it is believed to have been played after the language is selected.
Character Select[edit]
The track title "Character Select" suggests that this may have been used in a potential character selection screen alongside the Multi-Card Play mode's unused portraits. Like the portraits, it is unknown why this track nor the screen itself was cut.
Notebook Land Map[edit]
The track title "Notebook Land Map" suggests that this may have been used in the map screen of the game's - and the series in general's - only post-game world, Notebook Land. The track used in the map screen, however, was a replay of Space's map screen music, and it is unknown why this track was replaced.
Test Images[edit]
Two test images exist in the game files, named "Test.nbfs" and "Test2.nbfs" respectively. The first image reads as "THE テスト" (THE TEST), and cannot be seen in the final game. The second image, on the other hand, is used on the bottom screen during the story cutscenes.
