However, when [[Heather]] goes missing and the [[Color]] begins to drain from the world, Mari watches as a revived Wilfre kidnaps most of the villagers and drains the village of its color. She, along with the remaining villagers, escape onto [[Turtle Rock]] and sail to [[Watersong]], where Mari meets [[Mayor Rose]]. Mari empathizes with her fears of inadequacy, and after saving Watersong from Wilfre, Mari vanishes. In reality, she had defected to join Wilfre in draining the color, so that the Raposa world could live on. However, she is swayed back to the Creator's side when Jowee refuses to join Wilfre.
