Jowee & Mari's Grand Adventure is a rumored unreleased action-adventure/platform game for the Game Boy Advance developed by 5th Cell and published by THQ. The game was set to release in July 2005, but because Nintendo announced they'd lesson support for the system around the same time, the prototype was copied and then shifted over to the Nintendo DS, where it was scrapped and revamped as Drawn to Life, despite supposedly being completely finished. The original prototype was wiped soon after the shift, but rumours came around about the prototype being completed beforehand. As the title implies, the game was going to star Jowee and Mari instead of your own Hero and the drawing mechanics were limited to the D-Pad and buttons, aside for that though the game would have been very similar to Drawn to Life.
Why this Game is not Real
- The Game Boy Advance was discontinued in Japan in Q4 2006, Q4 2008 in Europe and May 15, 2010 in America, way after the July 2005 release date.
- Samurai Deeper Kyo was the last GBA game ever released (Not counting rereleases or combo packs), in February 12, 2008.
- Neither THQ or 5th Cell had never mentioned the game.
- How do we know the release date then?
- There isn't a single trustworthy source about this game's existance either.
- In a interview with Jeremiah Slaczka he says the game started as a Nintendo DS game.
- Special note to this quote from this interview: "We knew this was the right game and the right platform." refering to the DS.
- Making a game with drawing mechanics for GBA was not a good idea, since it doesn't have a touch screen and there wasn't any type of peripheral for it.
- Most games that were being released on GBA after the DS was released were licensed games or adaptations of console games.
- THQ never released a single game of an original IP on GBA, aside from (partially) Tak which was a colaboration with Nickelodeon.
- The few original IPs exclusive to GBA released after the DS flopped, like Juka and the Monophonic Menace.
- THQ never released a single game of an original IP on GBA, aside from (partially) Tak which was a colaboration with Nickelodeon.
