Wait! Ink is made by burning branches in a furnace! Wilfre is planning to make Creation Ink!

–Jowee

The Branches from the Tree of Ages are an item in Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (Wii) grown in The Maze of Ages and used by Circi to create the Bad Mannequin. It is one of the Artifacts of Power.

The Branches from the Tree of Ages are simply brown branches with some green leaves.

Book Icon.png Story[edit]

When the Hero recovers Wilfre's Journal, the group learn about the Artifacts of Power, and send Jowee and the Hero to go find the remaining Artifacts. When Jowee and the Hero get to the Tree of Ages, they find that not only has the Tree gone missing, but Shadow creatures have run amok in the area. After drawing the Acorn of Ages and the Rain Cloud, the Tree sprouts again and grants everyone access to a final room. When the Hero makes their way through the room and draws the Leaves of Ages, the Tree drops the Branches, the Hero collects them, and the two return to Rapoville.

Mari congratulates the group on gathering the artifacts, but Circi is revealed to have the Eternal Furnace, which was presumed to be in Wilfre's hands. She double-crosses the Raposa, forming the Bad Mannequin, and she tries to draw Wilfre's likeness onto the mannequin. However, she forgets what he looks like and accidentally creates the Giant Scribble Monster. During the fight against the Monster, the Hero must ground pound the mannequin a total of 25 times. Afterwards, the mannequin floats into the air as the Shadow drains from the village and it explodes. The Creator then speaks to the Raposa and promises to cast the Artifacts into the ocean.

Trivia[edit]

  • Despite Jowee saying that Creation Ink could be made by burning branches in a furnace, it is unknown if it could be made by burning the Branches from the Tree of Ages in any furnace or if they must be burned in the Eternal Furnace specifically.
  • Although the Hero only appears to collect two branches, the Bad Mannequin is made of six branches.
  • It is unknown why Circi waited for Jowee and the Hero to collect the Branches, as she could have presumably taken the Branches from the Tree of Ages herself at any point.
