Wilfre's Wasteland is the fourth and final village visited in Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter It contains nine levels, six of which are based on locations from previous worlds. It is Wilfre's base of operations during the game, and is where the final confrontation against him occurs.

Upon their arrival, the Turtle Rock Raposa find Mari and Wilfre at the entrance of the village. Mari reveals that she ran away from Turtle Rock in order to help Wilfre drain the Color from the world, and attempts to convince Jowee to join them. Upon his refusal, Mari tells Wilfre to take him to his lair to explain their motives further, which scares the rest of the Raposa back onto Turtle Rock.

Just after, the Mayor appears to help the Hero, asking them to find templates of three Village Altars and their respective Village Orbs to disable the barrier protecting Wilfre's castle. After doing so in the first six levels, the Mayor disappears and Jowee runs out from the castle in panic, unable to believe what he has seen. However, he still refuses to join Mari and Wilfre, and after Mari remembers a conversation with her father, she leaves Wilfre's side and rejoins Jowee and the Rapoville Raposa.

Wilfre retreats back into his castle, and Mari directs the Hero to collect a key to access more of Wilfre's castle. After traversing through the next two levels, Wilfre appears again to mock the Raposa, revealing that if they restored color to the world, they would all die. The Raposa are shocked, and Wilfre leaves them to decide their fate, challenging the Hero one last time. During their fight, Wilfre is able to kill the Hero and begins draining its color.

As this happens, Mari, Jowee, and the Turtle Rock Raposa pray to the Creator for guidance, and they are joined by the villagers of Watersong, Lavasteam, and Galactic Jungle. After hearing their prayer, the Creator announces to them all - "Let there be color." The Hero is revived as color returns to their mannequin, and they manage to defeat Wilfre and his Ultimate Creation. After Wilfre's defeat, Heather is returned - now clear of the Shadow scarring her body.

The Hero and Heather exit Wilfre's castle, and the Turtle Rock villagers are excited to see them, but Mari says that they needed to return to where this all began - Rapoville.

Trivia[edit]

  • This is the only village in Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter besides Turtle Rock to only have a single section.
  • Most of the villager NPCs from the rest of the game appear in the area:
  • Concept sketches of Wilfre's Wasteland reveal two earlier designs for the village that went unused:
    • In one, a car can be seen in a downtown area next to a Raposa, possibly hinting at an uptown or downtown styled village.
    • In another, some dice and playing cards can be found near what appears to be a casino, possibly hinting at a gambling-themed village.
  • In French, this world is known as Désert de Wilfre, or Wilfre Desert.
