I was informed that a new village had appeared in a place Deadwood referred to as Starlite Works, where a settlement of Raposa existed.

Bavel

The Starlite Works are a group of villages created by GuyThatExists that appears in the short story Bavel's Diary as a major location. Inhabited by the indigenous Rapoville Raposa, they founded the village after being forcefully removed from their home by Eugene Shinar. The first version of the Works was located in and around Deadwood, though they would eventually disperse into the forest. After this dispersion, they would name Elkanah as the mayor of the Works. Eventually, the villages would be dissolved into the Twilite Wood, Star Forest, and Gearworks.

The Starlite Works are a series of lush and vibrant villages, surrounded by and making use of the trees and cliffs. It appears near identical to the landmarks seen in the Forest Gate in Drawn to Life, though the inhabitants change drastically.

Before Bavel's Diary[edit]

After being chased out of Rapoville by Eugene Shinar when he burned down their village, the native Raposa began to live in and around the living tree Deadwood. For around fifteen years, this would be their home, until eventually, the group of Raposa expanded throughout the forest, officially creating the Starlite Works. After officially founding the village, they would name Elkanah as their mayor, who would in turn name Hanniel as his assistant.

Bavel's Diary[edit]

About fifteen years later, Elkanah would meet Bavel, the son of Eugene Shinar who had denied his father's ideals. Elkanah invited him into the village and gave him a tour and a history lesson of his people. Bavel then asked to form a treaty with the Starlite Works, though Elkanah was reluctant to sign, only signing on the condition that they wouldn't have to relocate. Afterwards, Bavel and Elkanah established a World Gate in the village.

The next year, Bavel returns to Elkanah with the proposition of allowing Robert Row, a Human, to explore the village and learn their history. Elkanah agrees and takes Robert into the village, including Deadwood. During this tour, Bavel would meet with Hanniel to discuss introducing the role of Deputy Mayor into Rapoville. A while later, Tegean, Bavel's daughter and next in line to be Mayor of Rapoville, would visit the village, much like her father had done before her.

After Bavel's Diary[edit]

It is unknown what caused the schism in the village, but by the time of Drawn to Life, the Starlite Works had split into Star Forest, Twilite Wood, and Gearworks, though Deadwood would still act as a central figure to all three new villages.
