Monk is a Screener created by GuyThatExists that is mentioned in the short story Blank Slates 3. They were the original screener in the Developer's Grove, though after the release of Drawn to Life and the excess of Developer Avatars working on the sequels, Monk split themself into the Four Guardians - Warrior, Ninja, Skate, and Tank. Monk's abilities laid dormant in the four of them until late into Tombstone's attack, and they were able to effectively fight it, though not being able to kill it.
Appearance[edit]
As a screener, Monk is a blue mist that can change their form at will. They also have one physical accessory, being a helmet they wear on their head, that can also be dissolved or changed at will.
Story[edit]
Monk was created during the development of Drawn to Life alongside Willham and Mayo, and they assisted in changing things about the game during development. When new games began development and The Void was created, Monk was moved into The Void, but found themself not able to keep up with the work of two sets of development teams. They decided that they would then split into four beings, inhabiting the bodies of the original Four Guardians - Warrior, Ninja, Skate, and Tank.
Monk would then live as the Four Guardians, changing bodies after hearing that The Void would be shut down. They decided to protect the four human bodies in Warrior's Castle and inhabited bodies creating Flash, Paint, Hose, and Ore. After The Void was brought back for the development of Drawn to Life: Two Realms, the Guardians were brought back, but eventually killed after the game's release thanks to Salem Rose. Monk's smoke then shot out throughout The Void, inhabiting Doug, Robot, Violet's Thrall, and Barks.
A few years later, this second group of Guardians would all die to Tombstone's hand, though Tombstone was able to absorb a quarter of Monk, gaining their abilities. Willham, with the now reincarnated Ninja, Skate, and Tank, helped the three of them activate their dormant abilities from Monk, which would help them fight against the monster. Eventually, Tombstone is defeated, and Warrior is revived. During the battle, Ninja, Skate, and Tank were sent into canon, while Warrior was taken by Temte Mapleleaf into The Abyss.
