The Shadow Hole is a location created by GuyThatExists that appears in the short stories Blank Slates, Blank Slates 2, and Blank Slates 3. It is found in The Void and was formerly run by Shadow Mari. After its first closure, it was hidden by the Two Realms Plains, though the Shadow Squid would eventually rip the Shadow Hole open once more, but it was quickly sealed once again. Years later, Tombstone would open the Hole again, though Shadow Mari is able to seal it before it can travel through.
Appearance[edit]
The Shadow Hole is quite literally just a hole in The Void. It has shadowy tendrils latching onto The Void's floor as well.
Story[edit]
Before Blank Slates[edit]
The Shadow Hole was originally created by Shadow Mari after Mayo asked her to gather all the Shadow she could feel into one place. When The Void was shut down after the development of both Drawn to Life: The Next Chapters, Shadow Mari would hide in the Hole to avoid being shut down with it. After The Void is restarted for Drawn to Life: Two Realms, Shadow Mari continues to operate the Shadow Hole.
Blank Slates[edit]
Shadow Mari first uses the Hole to send beams of Shadow throughout The Void. One of these beams strikes and kills Willham, while the rest all land in different spots in The Void, springing up locations and landmarks. Some of these beams land in Lavasteam's unused color vat, allowing the locations and landmarks to be colored in, giving life to everything that had been risen up. Shadow Mari then retreats back to the Hole.
The next time we see the Shadow Hole is before the battle between Shadow Mari and the residents of The Void. During the fight, Jinxy, Drakon, and the Droogle Killer all fall into the hole, transporting them to the Developer's Grove. After Mayo reveals herself to be the mastermind behind the attack on The Void, Shadow Mari takes a step back and explains the situation to Willham. Some time after this, Droogles begin to appear in The Void thanks to an attack from Jinxy and the Droogle Killer. Willham and Shadow Mari kill the Droogle Killer, capture the Droogle Leader, and fly into the Shadow Hole, closing it.
Blank Slates 2[edit]
Later on, the Two Realms Plains were created where the Shadow Hole once was, and when the Shadow Squid is created in the plains, it uses its tentacles to rip open the ground, revealing the Shadow Hole again. After being defeated, the Shadow Squid descends into the hole, sealing it once more.
Blank Slates 3[edit]
Two years later, after Tombstone had absorbed and gained the powers of Monk, it reopens the Shadow Hole in the Plains as Fiora, Nolan, Sandal, Shadow Mari, and Willham arrive. Before the Hole can be sealed however, Tombstone throws the deceased Lambert out to Fiora, forcing Lambert's body to talk to her. Sandal is able to smell Tombstone's Shadow on him, so Tombstone knocks Sandal into the Hole and Shadow Mari begins sealing it once more.
