–Droogle Leader
Max, also known as the Droogle Leader, is a Droogle created by GuyThatExists based on a cut enemy from a beta version of Drawn to Life. He appears in the short stories Blank Slates as one of the main antagonists, Blank Slates 3 as a secondary protagonist, and in GenericChallenge, Self-Awareness, Salem Rose Pt. 1, and Blank Slates 2 as a cameo. He also appears in The 35 as a character in 2 out of 105 segments.
He was the instigating member of the coup against Joseph Tringali, but he was defeated and sentenced to being the informational text in Drawn to Life: Two Realms. He was later attacked by Salem Rose and ran away from the Developer's Grove, hiding out in the Forest with Deadwood and Samuel, eventually telling them about The Void. He would later return to The Void and help lead the Droogle Army in the fight against Tombstone. He would later be forcibly evacuated back to Deadwood.
Appearance[edit]
The Droogle Leader is a tan, dog-like Droogle with a rectangular head. He wears silver armor on his legs and arms and a golden chestplate. He also wears a golden helmet with a red feather, and he carries a sword with him at all times.
Story[edit]
Blank Slates[edit]
The Droogle Leader is first seen when Mildew gets sent into the Developer's Grove, and he stabs Alana with his sword to send her back into The Void. For some time, he and the other Droogles continue to send Alana back into the void. Later on, he, along with the rest of the Droogles, send Joe Tringali, David Franco, and Mildew back to the void, allowing them to gain control of the Grove. He then begins to rally the Droogles and chants in tongues in order to rotate the entire world 45 degrees.
Eventually, Jinxy, Drakon, and the Droogle Killer fall into the Shadow Hole and arrive in the Grove, causing the Droogle Leader to call for an assault. However, as he talks with Drakon about their plan, the Droogle Killer kills Drakon, allowing Jinxy to steal the Droogle Leader's sword and send the Droogle into the void.
As he pops into the void, he and the other Droogles begin to panic until Willham silences them and asks for their leader. When the Droogle Leader is outed by his subordinates, both Willham and Shadow Mari grab him and fly into the Shadow Hole, closing it once and for all. Back in the Grove, Willham and Shadow Mari turn the Droogle Leader over to Joe and Franco, leaving Joe to leave him in charge of the progress checks in Drawn to Life: Two Realms.
Self-Awareness[edit]
The Droogle Leader is seen again when Aly sneaks into the Dev Grove, and he tries to help recover her memories. When he and the Joe can't help her, they send her back to the void using the Droogle Leader's Sword.
Salem Rose Pt. 1[edit]
The Droogle Leader is next seen arguing with Joe about a hypothetical Two Realms Village, with the Droogle Leader holding firm in his beliefs that they don't need to create a new village, as the three current villages already have enough tension between them. Miles snuck around him undetected, stabbing himself with the Droogle Leader's Sword. When the sword falls to the ground, both Joe and the Droogle Leader turn around to look at it. Joe jokingly asks if they gave the Droogles psychic powers, and the Droogle Leader denies that he moved the sword.
When Salem Rose, a corrupted version of Miles, appears in the Dev Grove again, the Droogle Leader takes a break from his job in Drawn to Life: Two Realms to investigate him and his Time Machine. Salem Rose holds the Droogle Leader hostage with Shadow, forcing him to show Salem Rose the sword. The Droogle Leader complies, and when Salem Rose vanishes, the Droogle Leader takes his sword and runs off into the woods around the Grove.
Blank Slates 2[edit]
After hiding in the woods for a bit, the Droogle Leader thinks he hears Salem Rose returning, so he lunges at him with his sword. However, he misses and ends up falling through the Wishing Well and landing in Rapoville in 2010.
The 35[edit]
2010[edit]
After arriving in canon, he runs into the Forest Gate, where he stumbles across Deadwood, who grants him entry. Samuel also appears shortly after, and the Droogle Leader tells them that he was attacked by someone named "Maya", not wanting to reveal Miles or The Void to the two. Seeing a hole in his story but not wanting to be rude, Deadwood allows the Droogle Leader to stay for the time being, wanting to learn more about him and Droogles.
2014[edit]
Almost five years later, the Droogle Leader scavenges for Kaorin Berries, and when he returns to Deadwood, he is warned of their dangers by both Deadwood and Samuel. He is also confronted about his story in the past, as they had discovered that there was no "Maya". Knowing he had been found out, he decides to give them surface level information about The Void and the Developer's Grove, and masking his story by calling the Developers "designers" that work for the Creator, accidentally letting slip that the Wishing Well was the entrance and that his sword was another entrance.
Deadwood then asks about The Void itself, and the Droogle Leader explains it as a barren wasteland with villages and some familiar landscapes such as Lavasteam, Wilfre's Wasteland, and the Forest Gate. To illustrate his point, he tells them that the second Lavasteam has a Color Vat in it. Deadwood and Samuel then inform him that he needed to return, especially if it was his job to protect The Void. He agrees and entrusts his sword to Samuel, who uses it to send the Droogle Leader back to The Void.
When he arrives back in The Void, he finds himself just outside the new Guardians' HQ and sees the Two Realms Plains and Shadow Village on the horizon. Confused, he begins doubting his decision, but just then, Mill walks in. Not recognizing him as Flash, the Droogle Leader asks for help, admitting that he might be lost.
Blank Slates 3[edit]
Two years later, the Droogle Leader is still hiding out from the Droogle army in the Guardians' HQ, and asks Violet for more clarification about the Tree King's campaign and the Shadow Village. This agitates Violet, but they eventually give the Leader the information he wanted. During this conversation, Tombstone attacks the Drawn to Life Village, so Violet and the Droogle Leader mobilize to fight it. The Droogle Leader also sends a message to the other Guardians and screeners telling them to help fight.
When they arrive, Violet helps defeat Tombstone, and the two of them meet up with Lambert, who asks where the other Guardians were. The Droogle Leader watches as the other Guardians return from their meeting with Aly and asks the group why Tombstone had to be contained, asking where Willham was. However, before they can discuss how to get Willham's attention, they watch as Gingerfre and the Shadow army revitalize Tombstone, and the fighters retreat to the Two Realms Plains.
Once there, the Droogle Leader reconnected with his partner in the Droogle army - the Droogle Countess. She reveals to him that the Droogles had all thought Salem Rose had killed him. He tries to deflect what he had actually done in the meantime, and she calls him out on it, so he explains what he had done during the events of Blank Slates 2. Mill and the Countess both tell him that what he had done had consequences, not telling him that Deadwood was only able to send Miles to The Void due to what the Droogle Leader had told Deadwood. However, they do ask him if he was changed and wasn't planning on running away anymore. He promises that he would fix his mistakes however, and promises to help defeat Tombstone.
Later, the Droogle Leader leads the Droogle army into the fight in the Shadow Village, reintroducing himself to them. During the battle, they attacked Tombstone's legs, defeating small amounts of Shadow. After the fight was over and Tombstone had collapsed into a wave, the Droogle Leader and Droogle Countess worked with Sandal and Abyss to rescue deceased Droogles from Tombstone and absorb some of its Shadow. However, once Tombstone was reformed, the Leader and the Countess survive and sit outside the village, watching as Tombstone encases it in a bubble.
Back in the Guardians' HQ, the Droogle Leader joined a meeting with the Countess, mayors, Guardians, screeners, and leaders of other factions in The Void, all discussing how to face Tombstone. Though he didn't speak up during the meeting, he would join Crawler's LARPing Group, Cecil's Militia, and the Shadow army in traveling to the Baki Temple to gather more items to fight Tombstone with. While there, they met with Hans and each gained specially made God Ray Armor. On the way back to HQ from the Temple, the Droogle Leader, the Droogle Countess, Abyss, and Sorcerer all spoke about the Tree King escaping and joining Cecil's Militia. They then formulated a plan to stop the Tree King in case he began to attack them.
Once they arrive, they are unable to put their plan into motion before the Tree King is killed, though they do notice the Two Realms Plains getting enveloped by Tombstone, drastically lowering morale. The Leader and Countess attempt to rally their troops, but to no avail, watching many of the Droogles ascend into the Developer's Grove. Their ranks diminished, the Droogle Leader continued to lead the smaller Droogle army in the final fight against Tombstone, fighting its main body throughout the fight.
During the fight, the army, using their God Ray armors and charms, continued to attack Tombstone's legs. At one point, Tombstone swung the Droogle Killer's skeleton towards the Droogle army, but it was stopped by Apprentice and SuperRapo. Later in the fight, the Droogle Leader, along with the majority of the combatants, is captured by Tombstone, forcing Temte Mapleleaf to use her abilities to eject them all from The Void.
The Droogle Leader, alongside the Countess, Pot, and the rest of the Droogle army, are ejected into the forests outside Rapoville, where they come face to face with Samuel, Robigo, and a deceased Deadwood. After seeing the deceased Deadwood, the Droogle Leader finally understands the ramifications of his prior visit to the tree, understanding that he was the reason Salem Rose was able to enter The Void in the first place, and he begins to break down.
