The Next Chapter Village is a village created by GuyThatExists that appears in the short stories Blank Slates, Blank Slates 2, and Blank Slates 3. It also briefly appears in Salem Rose Pt. 1 and Heather Dating Sim, specifically in a non-canon path of Chapter 3. It was created by Shadow Mari after her attack on The Void and houses all the Unused & Removed Features from Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter. It is visited frequently by many parties who wish to utilize the Color Vat.
Story[edit]
Blank Slates[edit]
The Next Chapter Village is first seen split up immediately after Shadow Mari's attack. Rocko and Fox rise up from The Void on Lavasteam's third page and they point the Four Guardians towards the color vat so that they can remove the Shadow from Ore. Rocko and Fox then leave to go to the Wii Village, but while they're gone, all the cut locations from Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter merge into one location, formally creating The Next Chapter Village.
The village is next seen when Alana, Nolan, Fiora, and Lambert are all sitting at a table discussing the fact that they can basically do whatever they want now. Alana gets mad that she isn't relevant, and after nagging from Nolan, Lambert, and eventually Mayo, she gets into a car and drives off. Fiora then leads Nolan, Lambert, and Mayo to the edge of the village where Hans's seam shop is. Fiora goes inside with Hans while everyone waits outside.
Shortly after this, Rocko and Fox return to the village with their friend Jinxy and Willham. Willham gets fed up with the trio and leaves their group, while Rocko, Fox, and Jinxy see Alana driving past them. They stop her can and ask her if she knows where Fiora and Lambert are, so she points them towards the other side of the village. Mayo joins the four and asks what they're doing, but before they can answer, a page of the village begins to turn, causing all the beings to panic. Alana fears for Nolan's safety, so she, along with Rocko, Fox, Jinxy, and Mayo, go to the other side of the village and meets up with him at Hans's seam shop. She tells him, along with Fiora, Lambert, and Hans, to jump off the page.
Immediately after this however, the group notices Crawler and his army approach the group. In a panic, Fiora tosses Alana a dress that Hans had made her, along with a new phrase she could use to ascend to the Dev Grove. Before a fight can break out between the two parties however, Willham sweeps over the group, erasing the village along with Fox, Lambert, Hans, and Crawler's army.
Blank Slates 2[edit]
Eventually, Shadow Mari sends a second wave of Shadow and Color beams throughout the void, restoring the village and its inhabitants. When Salem Rose attacks the void, he arrives at the Color Vat to gain the power of color, killing the Guardians in the process. After he leaves and the Tree King begins his attack, Fiora, Lambert, and Nolan work to get everyone to safety in The Next Chapter Village. The three of them and Sandal then work together to bring the Guardian's bodies to the Guardians' HQ.
Later on, the Tree King, Squid, Jungle Creature, and Sparky, a new Guardian, arrive at the Color Vat, and Sparky fights back against the Tree King. It is joined by Fiora, Lambert, Sandal, and Mill, a new Guardian, and the fight continues. Later still, they are joined by two other Guardians - Violet and Hoopz - along with Nolan, Rocko, and Fox. The battle continues and the Guardians defeat all three bosses, with the help of Lambert.
The new Guardians and Lambert leave for the Two Realms Plains, leaving Fiora, Nolan, Fox, and Rocko behind with Sandal. Sandal is then possessed by a fragment of the Jungle Creature and destroys the house they were staying in, absorbing Rocko in the process. The three of them fight the monster, and some time later, Lambert returns and pushes Sandal into the Color Vat, freeing Sandal and Rocko. A week later, Mill comes back to the village and helps Rocko restore his memories as Repair Guy.
Heather Dating Sim[edit]
In a non-canon path, you move into The Next Chapter Village after being denied entry to the Wii Village, where you live for the rest of your life.
Blank Slates 3[edit]
The Next Chapter Village is next seen two years later, managing to avoid Tombstone's attacks. It ends up being used as a safe haven for many characters during the battles, as Nolan, Fiora, Stocking, Mew Pod, Crawler, and Gargoyle are all sent here to rest. Much later, during the final fight with Tombstone, the Master of the Abyss begins teleporting things from The Next Chapter Village and the Wii Village to canon to prevent Tombstone from absorbing them. After Tombstone's defeat, the remains of the Wii Village are destroyed by Temte Mapleleaf as she creates The Abyss.

- Despite being called The Next Chapter Village, residents from every game were introduced in this village in Blank Slates.
- Fox is a cut enemy from Drawn to Life.
- Hans is a cut Raposa from Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (Wii).
- Alana and Nolan are cut Humans from Drawn to Life: Two Realms.
- Nolan is the only one of these four to remain in The Next Chapter Village after Blank Slates.
