The Void is a realm created by GuyThatExists that appears in the short stories Blank Slates, Blank Slates 2, and Blank Slates 3 as the main location, as well being a main location in the one-shots Self-Awareness, Heather Dating Sim Prelude, and GenericChallenge.

There are two major locations in The Void before Shadow Mari's attack: the Discussion Grounds and more recently, the Shadow Hole. After her attack, villages based on the four Raposa-based games were created. The only way to access The Void is to be cut from a game or go unused in a game, however, you can also enter The Void by being stabbed with the Droogle Leader's Sword or being written on by the Stylus. The Void was ultimately destroyed by Tombstone's attacks and Temte Mapleleaf's attempts to save it.

TowerIcon.png Appearance[edit]

Before Shadow Mari's attack, The Void was a flat, open expanse with a white ground and a fuzzy sky. After the attack however, various buildings and landmarks took form across The Void.

Book Icon.png Story[edit]

Creation and Tension[edit]

The Void is initially a quiet and docile place, with only a few minor disturbances. The devs originally created it as a place to store all the Unused & Removed Features, but soon gave Willham and Mayo the title of screener, allowing them to sort through the content. After the release of Drawn to Life, and the planning of two versions of Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter, the screeners asked for help, which was given to them in the form of the Four Guardians. These four Raposa were meant to be temporary helpers that would dissipate into The Void after the completion of a new game. The devs also created the Discussion Grounds to help the six beings communicate their ideas easier.

Eventually, Mayo got tired of the monotony of The Void and brought Shadow Mari to life. Mayo tasked Shadow Mari with creating a scene during a meeting of the screeners and Guardians, which would allow Shadow Mari to bring life to The Void. Mayo collected all the Shadow that was sent to The Void after being scrubbed in the first game and created the Shadow Hole for Shadow Mari to use as a base of operations.

Mayo's Campaign[edit]

Willham's Attacks[edit]

During the development of Drawn to Life: Two Realms, Mayo's plan came to fruition, and Shadow Mari brought life to The Void, summoning cut locations, characters, enemies, and bosses. In this process, she killed Willham, but due to the nature of a screener, he was brought back to life moments later and began to go on a rampage throughout The Void, deleting the Wii and Next Chapter Villages, along with multiple notable characters.

Battle at the Shadow Hole[edit]

Eventually, a war broke out at the Shadow Hole, with Shadow Mari leading one army and the Four Guardians leading another. However, after Drakon and the Droogle Killer jump into the Shadow Hole, Shadow Mari calls off her army and Mayo reveals her true colors to the group. As Mayo has a mental breakdown, Willham pulls Shadow Mari aside and asks for her story. Some time after this, Droogles begin to appear in The Void thanks to an attack from Jinxy and the Droogle Killer. Willham and Shadow Mari kill the Droogle Killer, capture the Droogle Leader, and fly into the Shadow Hole, permanently closing it.

Aftermath[edit]

Some time after this, Joe makes an announcement, saying that the newly created beings will be allowed to live on in The Void, and that Mayo would be deleted. Willham and Shadow Mari return to The Void as this announcement is being completed, and Shadow Mari brings back everything that Willham had deleted prior. During the time between Blank Slates and Salem Rose Pt. 1, the are where the Shadow Hole was located was repurposed as the Two Realms Plains. The Guardians' HQ was also built, replacing the Discussion Grounds.

Salem Rose's Attack[edit]

Some time later, Miles gets a tip about The Void from Deadwood, so he decides to visit the realm. While in The Void, he is led to a Shadow Stone by Willham, and with its power, he kills Tomohawk and escapes. He later returns, fully corrupted by the Shadow Stone and calling himself Salem Rose, and attacks the residents of The Void in an attempt to get to the Color Vat. He eventually absorbs some of the color, killing the Four Guardians in the process before leaving.

Shortly after, Milfre asks Joe for help in defeating Salem Rose, so he calls Willham and Shadow Mari to help her. However, due to the disappearance of the Droogle Leader's Sword, this traps them outside The Void.

Tree King's Campaign[edit]

Battle for the Baki Temple[edit]

After pulling the Guardians' bodies from the Color Vat, an explosion rings out in the Wii Village, caused by the Tree King's group. This group is fought by Jinxy and Crawler's LARPing Group, but they are eventually sealed in the Baki Temple, freeing the Jungle Creature in the process. The Tree King's group then goes to the Color Vat to enact the second part of their plan.

Searching for the Guardians[edit]

Meanwhile, Rocko, Fiora, Lambert, Nolan, and Sandal take the Guardians' bodies to the HQ, where they meet Mill a reincarnated version of Flash. Mill takes them inside and shows them the location of the other three Guardians. During the ensuing search, Rocko and Nolan find Hoopz, a reincarnated Ore, Hans, Zak, and Mac find Violet, a reincarnated Hose, and Mill, Fiora, Lambert, and Sandal find Sparky, a reincarnated Paint.

Battle at the Color Vat[edit]

During this search, the Tree King's group, including him, Squid, Sparky, and the Jungle Creature, arrive at the Color Vat, and the Jungle Creature hops onto the rim. It shoots Shadow into the vat, sending beams of Shadow and Color throughout The Void, much like Shadow Mari had done. These beams spawn the Shadow and Ink creatures that had been sealed in the Color Vat, and some of them chase Gingerfre and Red Dragon as they had a Shadow Stone in their possession. Sparky ends up fighting the group at the same moment Mill's group arrives to find it.

The other Guardians eventually arrive at the Color Vat to help the fight, where Lambert inadvertently becomes a Guardian after picking up Mizu's Trident and gaining water-based powers. They defeat the Tree King, Squid, and Jungle Creature, but Mill believes that they plan on returning, so the Guardians follow a piece of the Jungle Creature that had escaped. Meanwhile, a second piece heads towards the Wii Village, a third heads towards the Drawn to Life Village, and a fourth possesses Sandal, leaving Rocko, Nolan, Fiora, and Fox to fight Sandal's new form.

Jungle Creature's Revenge[edit]

In the Two Realms Plains, a small fight breaks out between the new Shadow and Ink creatures, when the piece of the Jungle Creature begins to absorb them, creating the Shadow Squid and reopening the Shadow Hole. At around this moment, the Guardians arrive and the screeners regain access to The Void, appearing near the plains. The combined efforts of the Guardians, the screeners, and the people who were already in the plains is enough to take down the Squid, reseal the Shadow Hole, and establish Lambert's place among the Guardians.

During this adventure, Jinxy and the LARPing Group had been exploring the Baki Temple, where Jinxy joined the LARPing Group. They also found the resting place for Jinxy's Mask and the Angry Baki Mask, multiple unused vehicles, and inadvertently found multiple bodies for the Tree King, one of which was inhabited when he died at the Color Vat. The group manages to break out of the temple before the new Tree King gets to them, but when he exits the temple with them, he is possessed by a piece of the Jungle Creature.

A fight ensues when the Tree King frees multiple Shadow and Ink creatures from the Ink Well in the village, but they refuse to fight for him. This enrages the Jungle Creature, who tells the Tree King to kill everyone in the Village. During this battle, the screeners, Guardians, and toys from the Plains arrive to help fight the monster. Lambert makes a pit stop to defeat Sandal and rejoins the Guardians in the Wii Village. The combined efforts of Crawler, Lambert, Willham, and Mill are enough to take him down, and Shadow Mari reseals the Baki Temple, trapping the newest Tree King inside. Willham deletes the piece of the Jungle Creature from existence and the group helps treat injured Droogles and bury the deceased ones.

Aftermath[edit]

After the battle, Shadow Mari creates a day and night cycle as a gift to the residents, and a Shadow Village is established for the Shadow and Ink creatures created during the attack. The fourth piece of the Jungle Creature buries itself in the graves of the deceased Droogles. One week after the attacks, the screeners and Guardians visit each village to make sure they're recovering well after the attacks.

Master's Campaign[edit]

First Encounter[edit]

A few months later, an Abyssal Rift appears on the outskirts of the Wii Village, alerting Willham, Jinxy and Heathers. They check the rift out, finding you in Heathers' house. After explaining that you had fallen through The Abyss and had encountered the Master of the Abyss, Willham leaves you with Heathers and gathers the Guardians, mayors, and Shadow Mari just in case. Eventually, a second rift appears outside the Wii Village, so Willham calls on the group to fight the Master of the Abyss, who had emerged from the rift to fight. With the help of you and Heathers, the Master retreats from The Void, taking you with her.

Second Encounter[edit]

After some time, another rift appeared in The Void, which Willham entered. Shortly after, you and Alme Palmette enter The Abyss from Roboville, and after an encounter with the Master, she seals all the entrances into The Abyss, including the one in The Void. After the Master is defeated, you come back to The Void with Temte Mapleleaf - the good half of the Master, Alme, and Willham. You spend some time with Temte, but she eventually takes you back to your realm through another rift, which was eventually sealed.

Tombstone's Campaign[edit]

A year or so afterwards, the fourth piece of the Jungle Creature emerges in the Drawn to Life Village, attacking it and starting Tombstone's attack on The Void. The fighters of The Void, including the Droogle army, Crawler's LARPing Group, and the Mayors, among others, all join together to take it down, though Gingerfre and his Shadow army accidentally revive it, allowing Tombstone to fully take over the Drawn to Life Village. While the fighters and most Village residents are able to escape, the Screeners, Mayors, and Guardians urge The Void residents to ascend to the Developer's Grove if they didn't wish to fight Tombstone.

Shortly after, Tombstone emerges in the Shadow Village, attacking it and nearly assimilating with it, though it is once again defeated, though it collapses into a tidal wave to take some of the fighters down with it. While the surviving fighters help clean up Tombstone's mess, the Five Aldarks and a guerrilla force of Shadows sacrifice themselves into Tombstone, reviving it once again and allowing it to not only take over the Shadow Village, but to assimilate some of the fighters it had missed before, including Mill - a Guardian. After this fight, many of the fighters leave The Void, hiding in the Grove, while the rest split up to investigate Tombstone's captured villages and the Baki Temple.

Tombstone emerges again in the Two Realms Plains, with the intent of reopening the Shadow Hole. It temporarily succeeds, though Shadow Mari is quickly able to seal the hole. Tombstone them summons its own Undead Droogle army to fight those that gathered in the Plains, and Tombstone is eventually successful enough to take over the Plains as well. Meanwhile, the remaining Guardians - Hoopz, Violet, and Sparky - enter new bodies provided by their original form of Monk, becoming Tank, Skate, and Ninja respectively. Tombstone also liquefies and absorbs the remains of the Shadow Village, completely removing it from The Void. The Tree King also breaks out of the Baki Temple, joining the fighters against Tombstone.

The groups of fighters all rendezvous back at the Guardians' HQ, and formulate a new plan of attack. Tombstone summons two undead allies from its domain, Drakon and Red Dragon, so the fighters break into three groups to fight the three threats, eventually all converging back onto Tombstone's main body. They fight it for a while, though Temte Mapleleaf eventually sends nearly everyone into canon, leaving only herself, the Tree King, Willham, Warrior - Mill's new, uninhabited body - and Tombstone. Temte transforms into the Master of the Abyss while the Tree King enters his ninth life, and the two of them fight Tombstone, defeating it for good.

End of The Void[edit]

However, during their fight, the Master begins sending pieces of the remaining villages into canon to prevent Tombstone from assimilating with them, and when the fight is over, the only things left in The Void are actively disappearing. A past version of Temte meets up with Willham while the present version brings the now-awake Warrior into The Abyss. Willham gives up his screener abilities to the past Temte, starting the creation of the Master. Temte, now alone in The Void and hearing Mayo's voice, destroys The Void, creating The Abyss.
