–Crawler

Crawler is a character based on a cut enemy from Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter. He appears in the short story Blank Slates as more of an anti-hero, and goes onto lead a LARPing group after the war in The Void. He also appears in Salem Rose Pt. 1 and Blank Slates 2 as the leader of Crawler's LARPing Group, and he helps take down the Tree King and his group.

Blank Slates

Crawler is first seen when Drakon and Dinofrog arrive in the Drawn to Life Village during the boss meeting. Crawler acts as a representaive for Beta King, since Beta King cannot talk or even think for itself. After the bosses' discussion, Crawler is sent to go fight the screeners with Rata, Tat & Tat, Rocket Vulture, and Beta King. However, right when they make it to The Next Chapter Village, Willham sweeps over them, deleting the village and Crawler's army.

Crawler, as one of the survivors of the attack, gets into an argument with Willham for deleting his army, but he eventually gets bored of the fighting and sits next to Rocko, who had spaced off. Crawler asks how Rocko was able to negotiate with Willham and how they were all brought to life in the first place. Rocko explains how Shadow Mari brought them all back to life and that he, Fox, and Jinxy were all planning to go thank Shadow Mari. Crawler stands up and declares that they'd go thank Shadow Mari on their own, but Willham and Mayo pick the two up and begin to speed towards the Shadow Hole.

On their way there, the four are stopped by Flash who was fighting Dinofrog with the other Guardians. She asks for their help, and Crawler refuses as Dinofrog was still technically his boss. Rocko is eager to fight, but Crawler attacks him for the same reason. Rocko returns to the sidelines and watches as Willham deletes Dinofrog. The group continue to the Shadow Hole with the Guardians joining them and arrive in time to watch Fiora push Jinxy into the Hole. Crawler is indifferent to the act, but fights against the Shadow and Ink army alongside Rocko, Nolan, Fiora, and the Four Guardians.

Eventually, Drakon dives into the Shadow Hole with the Droogle Killer following close behind, allowing Shadow Mari to call of her army; however, this also lets her see Willham speeding towards her. Mayo suddenly screams at Shadow Mari to kill the screener, so she obliges. This raises concerns from everyone still in the void, not including Crawler. However, Mayo screams at the group, more specifically at the Guardians and Willham when reformed, about how she treated poorly for obeying the rules. After her breakdown, she falls to the ground, leaving everyone else to their own devices.

Crawler doesn't group up with anyone until the Droogles from the Developer's Grove begin to appear in The Void thanks to Jinxy and the Droogle Killer's attack. Eventually, Willham and Shadow Mari kill the Droogle Killer, capture the Droogle Leader, and close the Shadow Hole for good. The two of them soon come back and return life to the void. Sensing an opportunity, Crawler walks over to a Droogle named Tomohawk and asks if he wanted to survive. Crawler then told the Droogle to gather his friends and to follow him. Rocko comes up and asks what his plan is, so Crawler explains that with the Droogles and the reformed Rocket Vulture, Rata, Tat & Tat, and Beta King, hes going to start a LARPing group. Crawler says goodbye to Rocko and leaves the rest of Rocko's friends to go off with his new group.

Salem Rose Pt. 1

Crawler is seen when Salem Rose, a corrupted version of Miles, comes to The Void. As Salem Rose makes his speech to the residents of the void, Crawler is among those who attack him, joining Fox, Rocket Vulture, Jinxy, Shadow Mari, and Willham. Jinxy and Fox both grab Salem Rose's legs as Crawler, Shadow Mari, and Willham trap him. Jinxy and Fox let go as Rocket Vulture explodes on the bubble Salem Rose was trapped in, revealing that he had already portaled away.

Blank Slates 2

Suddenly, an explosion rings out from the Wii Village, so Crawler, Jinxy, and the rest of Crawler's LARPing Group leave to investigate it. When they arrive, they find the Tree King's group attempting to break down the entrance to the Baki Temple. Jinxy demands him to stop, but the Tree King refuses, leading to a battle between the Tree King's forces - Squid, Robot, Gingerfre, Red Dragon, and himself - and Jinxy and the LARPing Group.

The battle leads to the release of the Jungle Creature, with Jinxy and the LARPing Group being trapped inside the Baki Temple. Unable to escape, Crawler and Jinxy decide to lead the group deeper into the temple, and to pass the time, Crawler begins a small campaign. Some time later, Crawler finds a room full of unused vehicles, where Pot adopts the Sea Anemone. Suddenly, the laughter of the new Tree King echoes through the hallways, so the LARPing Group runs towards the exit. The combined force of them all is able to break down the door, leading them back out to the Wii Village.

The new Tree King follows them out and is coated by a fragment of the Jungle Creature, so Jinxy and the LARPing Group fight him once more. However, before they can land a blow on him, the Tree King grabs Rocket Vulture and uses her to free Shadow and Ink creatures trapped within the Ink Well, dropping her on Beta King. Crawler in enraged at the death of his leader, and Jinxy fears that they lost the battle, but one Shadow creature, Abyss, stands up to the Tree King, refusing to fight for him. This empowers the LARPing Group, and they begin attacking.

Later, the group is joined by the Four Guardians, Willham, Shadow Mari, SuperRapo, Apprentice, and Sorcerer, who help take out the new Tree King. After the battle, Crawler helps move the injured and deceased Droogles off the battlefield, retuning them to the Drawn to Life Village.

Quote Icon.png Quotes

I apologize, your frogginess, but Beta King over here can’t talk. You can call me–oh I don’t know. I’ve always liked the name Rex.

–Crawler

Fine then. Call me Crawler.

–Crawler

More of a representative. King here can’t talk, or even think for that matter. And since Click is up there, in the great canon or whatever, I may as well be the King.

–Crawler

Be nice now. I don’t think you want to be on our bad side.

–Crawler

You can call us Bosses if it’s all the same to you.

–Crawler

Don’t forget my armada! Now it’s just me in this mech and no one to back me up!

–Crawler

I’m Crawler and I was coming to find you two to send me up there, into the grove.

–Crawler

You managed to negotiate with this guy, huh? Pretty impressive if you ask me.

–Crawler

How did we get here? I’ve been wondering about that ever since Drakon started talking about Droogles and getting out of here. I sort of understand it, but Vulture was telling me about you specifically.

–Crawler

So, the shadow is the one who brought us back? Not the screeners or the devs? Interesting.

–Crawler

Well, Rocko, it looks like we have someone to meet. How about the two of us head over to that deep hole?

–Crawler

Then it’s a deal! Onward to the hole!

–Crawler

We may be friends, but that frog over there is my boss. Sorry bud, these are the rules.

–Crawler

Hey bud, what’s your name?

–Crawler

Yeah, I am. Say Tomohawk, you don’t wanna die like your friends did, or like Mayo did, or even worse, like Drakon did. You don’t wanna end up like that, right?

–Crawler

Well, then, I have the surprise for you! I’m your new boss! Gather all your buddies and follow me!

–Crawler

Drakon’s dead and their leader is gone. Might as well give them someone to organize under. Plus, Drakon and Dinofrog are really dead, not like your furry friends were. So, when my army shows back up, I’m gonna be in charge. Hope the lot of you can fight back one day!

–Crawler

I promise it’ll all be pretend, so no real casualties. This Tomohawk kid has some real roleplaying potential. See you around Rocky!

–Crawler

We’re coming with you. If something big is happening back there, you’re gonna need some firepower.

–Crawler

Don’t forget that we were made to kill a Creation Hero. Hell, most of us are bosses!

–Crawler

Hey Jinxy! Gimme a hand here!

–Crawler

I want you to pull me up! I’m about to fall!

–Crawler

Don’t you dare.

–Crawler

Yo Jinxy! I wanna ask you somethin’. You ever consider joining our group?

–Crawler

Well, this hallway doesn’t seem to be getting any shorter. How about you and I craft a character so we can go for a bit? Just this once.

–Crawler

We’ll start you off as some NPCs this session, so I’ll let you know more once we actually get started.

–Crawler

Hey y’all, we just got our asses handed to us, so how ‘bout we chill out for a bit with some dungeon crawling?

–Crawler

He’s just gonna be whatever NPC we need, probably just a separate explorer or an undead king or something.

–Crawler

Hey! Jinxy! You gotta come look at this!

–Crawler

I have no idea, but this’ll be great for sessions down the line. Real hang gliders and a real UFO!

–Crawler

What’s up green buddy?

–Crawler

It’s moving alright. It looks like its wobbling back and forth.

–Crawler

I told you the Shadow was moving! Must have something to do with that bright light back there.

–Crawler

This time you’re alone, and we know what to expect.

–Crawler

You son of a bitch! I swear to god I’m gonna kill you myself!

–Crawler

Hell no! This is my guy to kill! You guys can have what’s left.

–Crawler
