You mean to say that you were stuck in the prototype Giant Robosa for all these years?

–Lock

Lock is a Raposa created by GuyThatExists that appears in the short story Salem Rose Pt. 1 as a minor character and in Salem Rose Pt. 2 as a major character.

He is King Russet's advisor and the son of Key, retaining his father's role as chief engineer. He would first be seen when Robigo breaks out of the Giant Robosa. He would later finish work on his Robosa Suit with the help of Stampy, allowing him to join Milfre in her fight against Salem Rose. However, during the fight, he would be incapacitated inside the suit, and he currently is living in Rapoville in his coma.

Salem Rose Pt. 1

Lock is first seen when Robigo breaks out of the Volcanic Core and appears in the center of town. He and Russet approach her together, and he stands by as Russet asks her questions. When she reveals that she was stuck in the Giant Robosa by Salem, he is in awe and tries to ask her about her time in the core.

Salem Rose Pt. 2

Lock is next seen when Robigo leaves Stampy in his care. While unconscious, Stampy phases in between his Raposa and Stamped forms. He does this more and more rapidly as he begins to wake up, and he bolts upright after some time. Lock asks him why he is able to phase into objects, and Stampy, still annoyed and confused, simply states that it's magic. Lock doesn't press him, and simply asks for Stampy's name. After Stampy is fully aware of his surroundings, Stampy and Lock make an agreement to help each other with their projects, Lock's being fixing the Robosa Suit.

Eventually, Lock and Stampy agree that the Robosa Suit could be best powered with Stampy's Ink, so Lock helps Stampy control his powers. Using a garden hose as a metaphor, Lock explains to Stampy how to shoot Ink from his body. Stampy successfully shoots Ink and sucks it back in, exciting both Lock and himself. Stampy uses his new ability to send Ink through the mechanisms of the Robosa Suit, causing it to function properly. While the two put finishing touches on the machine, they talk about how they are technically superheroes, and they decide to adopt the identities of Ink Torpedo and The Mechanic.

Their conversation eventually shifts to how well the Ink in working on the suit, so Lock explains that when Wilfre attacked the village, he likely changed the way the Robosa operated, causing them to require Shadow alongside electricity. Stampy mentions the Shadow being evicted from the Raposa realm in 2008, casually stating that "we’ve been Shadow free for five years now." Lock corrects him by saying it had been almost 35 years, and Stampy reveals that he travelled through time. Lock laughs and begins to inform Stampy of the events he missed.

The Robosa Suit is eventually completed, and as Lock is trying it on, Russet informs both of them that visitors were there for them. Stampy and Lock go to Russet's meeting room and find Milfre, Kamalah, Jowee, Willham, and Shadow Mari waiting for them. Stampy and Milfre embrace after thinking the other had died, and Stampy stays by Milfre's side as she takes a survey of the powers in the room. Lock runs off to get his suit at one point, and calls Stampy to help him. Stampy runs into the room, helping Lock put on the Robosa suit, and the two return to the meeting room. Stampy announces them using their superhero names, and the group enters the Time Machine, leaving for 2007.

When they arrive at the Village Bridge, they come face to face with Salem Rose and Robigo. After Milfre tries to reason with Salem Rose and he attacks her, Stampy, Lock, Jowee, and Willham team up to fight him. Stampy and Lock fight together, using a combination of the Robosa Suit and Ink to take him down. Eventually, after Salem Rose is distracted by Jowee, Stampy and Lock take hold on Salem Rose and prepare to kill him. However, using the power of the Galactic Jungle Orb, Salem Rose uses the grass to rip Stampy off of the Robosa Suit, and he attacks some of the mechanics in the suit. Suddenly, Salem Rose is struck by the Lavasteam Orb, and Lock is freed from his grasp.

When Lock rejoins the fight, he sees Robigo and Kamalah firing a constant stream of attack towards Salem Rose, so Lock follows suit with his energy blasts. They unknowingly give the Ruby Earring enough power to release a blast of energy that destroys the Time Machines and knock Lock unconscious. For some reason, the screeners, Milfre, Robigo, and Stampy all wake up from the attack, but Lock, Kamalah, and Jowee do not. Robigo and Milfre help haul Lock's body, still in the Robosa Suit, to Dr. Cure's hospital.

You mean to say that you were stuck in the prototype Giant Robosa for all these years?

–Lock

It’s hard to say for sure, but I don’t see why we can’t try. If he keeps doing whatever this is, it might take a few days at least.

–Lock

Hey, on your way out, could you stop by the throne room? Russet’s been pretty reclusive ever since you were last here, talking about a curse and whatnot.

–Lock

No, you weren’t dead, but you were doing this weird thing where you merged with the table. It’s like you became a sticker or something.

–Lock

I can buy magic. How about we just start with your name then?

–Lock

Nice to meet you Stampy, I’m Lock. Now, I got one more question for you before I’m out of your hair. You’re not a Shadow creature, are you?
Cause that sticker thing you got goin’ on really reeks of Shadow.

–Lock

I may not be an expert in Ink magic, but I do know a thing or two about controlling powers. Tell you what. Let’s make a deal.
You help me with a big project I’m working on, and I’ll do everything I possibly can to help you control your power. Deal?

–Lock

You ever wonder what it would be like to pilot a Robosa?

–Lock

I’ve built the suit already, but I’ve been having a hell of a time powering it, piloting it, and actually using it for anything other than a really fancy paperweight.

–Lock

Well, the person who brought you in, Miss Robigo, was apparently trapped in a cavern full of lava for some 30-odd years.
I started building this prototype so that we can rescue people from the lava if something like that ever happens again.

–Lock

We have no idea. After she escaped, she told us that she was ‘cursed by the Creator.’ Something about being rust-furred.

–Lock

Electricity, Banya Crystals, Lava, all sorts of things. For some reason, it just won’t work correctly.

–Lock

I’m not gonna lie, we thought about it. Shadow and Color. Problem is, we don’t have a way to collect or harness either of those.

–Lock

Don’t forget. Your arms are like garden hoses and you are the water.

–Lock

Hey Stampy, you think you could absorb that ink?

–Lock

If that’s all you could do, I’d call you the Raposa Straw or something corny like that.

–Lock

You’re right! Oh man, this is so cool! We should come up with superhero names while we’re fixing it up!

–Lock

Hmmm, well, this is a weird pick, but I like The Mechanic or something generic like that. Something like Iron Rapo just wouldn’t sit right with me. What about you?

–Lock

The Mechanic and Ink Torpedo. Ink Torpedo and The Mechanic. Hey, it sounds good both ways!

–Lock

My best guess? Wilfre. My pops was making these back before he showed up as Salem, so maybe when he and Miney hijacked the operation,
Wilfre changed something with how the parts work. Your ink is Shadow based, isn’t it?

–Lock

What happened in ’08?

–Lock

That would explain why all the Robosa tanked in productivity in ’08. We had to start using a bunch of alternative power sources, but I guess nothing could compete with Shadow.
Also, buddy, did you forget to carry a one somewhere? ’08 was nearly 35 years ago, not five.

–Lock

’42, but yeah. How long were you unconscious before Miss Robigo brought you in?

–Lock

Oh yeah, Miss Kamalah was working on something like that! I guess she got it to work out.

–Lock

Eh, here in the Lavasteam not much can surprise us. Wilfre’s whole color schtick, we had to deal with Miney for all those years, hell,
the creator gave us a Lava Monster back when the Hero showed up. Not much gets past us anymore. Five years, so I guess you’re from 2013?

–Lock

Name doesn’t ring a bell, but I’m sure someone here knows him.

–Lock

You bet it is! Look out world! The Mechanic and Ink Torpedo are coming for ya!

–Lock

You expecting anyone?

–Lock

So, time travel, huh?

–Lock

Well, a little stamp told me that he was from 2013. Only person I know who was working on a time machine is you.

–Lock

I have no problem helping fight this guy if he almost killed y’all. The enemy of my partner is my enemy.

–Lock

And I have this really cool Robosa suit that has an energy gun too!

–Lock

Stampy! A little help!?

–Lock

Hey, Russet? Forget about what Miss Robigo told you. She’s one of the bad guys now, so just take a deep breath. We got this!

–Lock

What’s so funny boy? You think you can get out of this?
